I'm not uploading, though not through choosing not to.

OK, so here's the deal. I'm a new user, have read the rules, and understand that you guys don't really love having your typical low life leecher around. And I understand. I've been using mininova for a long time now, and have been seeding since the start of it. Since it's now dead to me (I mean come on, only legal torrents? That beats the purpose.) I can't use that anymore. So I've come to you for my anime. Here's my problem: I'm now downloading "How's moving Castle", with very good speed (I'm impressed) but even with my upload enabled at "unlimited" I'm not uploading everything. 8 peers are attached.
I'm using Azureus.

Ben Jones.

it might be that those 8 peers simply already have the parts of the torrent you have downloaded. of those 12 leechers that specific torrent has only 4 (including you) are still downloading parts of the torrents - the rest (8 - what a coincidence :D) choose not to download the sample file that is included in the torrent so they appear as leecher, but aren't actually leeching anything.
and personally i don't really mind "low life leacher" - as long as they understand (and accept the consequences of) what they are doing.

OK then, as long as it's clear that I'd really like to .. contribute, to this community, and thanks for the über quick reply. The download speed I'm getting is amazing, and the quality of the descriptions are awesome aswell. I'll keep the torrent uploading for as long as possible, and share.
I really dont like people that only leech, it doesn't help any of us. The only people helping the pirate's are the pirate's themselves :).

There's plenty of options available to you. A little detective work around the forums will help you a lot.
bwj90:
Well thanks :) I've been browsing the forums up until now and am thinking about "adopting" a torrent, but not until I get a good idea about how to support it enough. And the trouble about uploading is that I'm on a broadband line, meaning that my download is about 16 MB/s and my upload would be about maxing at 200 kb/s. So my ratio is going to be fairly horific at the beginning, but I'll be seeding as much as possible, and keeping the torrents up until they're at least 1.0.
Anyone have a good idea about how I could help you guys up here? I mean, I'm no good at coding, but the community here seems real friendly ('ve been reading on the forums, and I've yet to encounter an all out flame war) and the speeds I'm getting are from decent (400 kb/s) to awesome (1.6MB/s). I'd really like to contribute.
Regards,
Ben Jones
