They have cool grafix and the studio's high labor cost and prestige (that's what I think) often make sure the directors who'll employ them cannot be half-assed... (but not always)

I was under the impression that most everyone hates Toei (thought I really don't know, I have just heard lots of bad things), and a lot of the others aren't too well known. Sunrise FTW!!! ;D

I voted for Studio 4C, Tekkon Kinkreet was fucking amazing. Otherwise I'd vote for Shaft or Bones.

I could write a ten page essay explaining how terrible those animes you listed (except for clannad which was decent).
