i actually just tried out the demo and found it surprisingly fun.. gameplay wise at least. The utterly absurd stupidness of it really brings it down though. The cut scenes were pretty painfull (really? shes gonna walk like that? realkly?) and it seems like theyre trying way too hard to be edgy and 'funny'

seemed like ok button mashing fun but the characters and setting just turn me off, its worse than DMC

I agree. You're fighting having fun, then all of a sudden, "What the fuck? A SHOE came out of no where and kicked someone in the ass?"

After playing the demo, I think I'll pass...

Sure it's cool, but I get a feeling it will wear off really quick.  She just doesn't have Dante's badassitude to hold me to the game.

(And lol at her walking animation ^_^)

The first 2 times I played the demo I thought it was terrible, but after giving it a few more chances things became a lot more interesting. The only thing is that I'm not very consistent. One time through I completely own on the clock tower, the next time through I die 2-3 times. I imagine some rage for this game just like I got from DMC4....

I fully agree with the terrible character design. Magic hair for clothing, that ridiculous walk, the stupid hairdo they put on her head, the guns on her shoes, it all adds up to garbage for me.

It would be a good game to pick up for maybe 30 bucks or so... but not a full priced game.

Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that I've got a PS3 instead of a 260?

DMC3 played much, much better than this game.  Not to mention that it had a much more compelling story.

DMC3.... compelling story?!  Yes.  That's how fucking stupid Bayonetta is.  It makes DMC look like fucking Hamlet.

I want my rental money back.

Bayonetta's story and dialog are so full of cheese it's both funny and painful at the same time. The gameplay itself is solid on the other hand. I was so wrong that i'd kick ass in this game like i did in the demo; fucking grace and glory are nightmares.

I really don't think you're supposed to walk into the game Bayonetta with a serious face though. More like half open eyes and drool coming out of your mouth. And no... I'm not talking about an Otaku with a hard-on.

My friend gave it a go today on his 360 and your statement is very true xD. However, I love the visuals, the combat, and how she shakes her booty when shes walking. It also seems to be filled up to the brim with fan service. So far it seems like a solid game :).

The game is fun as long as you dont take it to seriously. I mean if you like b movies with cheesy acting etc this game is perfect for you since the whole story is like that. I like the game its kinda stupid but in a fun way. The gameplay isnt bad and the combos are pretty cool. Also theres lots of weapons and costumes to mess with so you dont have to use the same stuff all the time which is nice.

@Sakubo

Pretty much. The introduction of the game is so over the top that all of my friends and I were laughing our guts out. Don't try to take the plot or cinematics seriously at all. Just let go and enjoy yourself :D.
The intro really surpasses the intro of DMC3 (I think) where that one chick drops a motorcycle into Dante's house.

i do kinda agree with what this one guy said; Bayonetta and Jeanna's conflicts are more epic then the Dante vs Virgil.

That's because Dante and Virgil don't have boobies and smexy suits.
