My tastes have evolved and I now have the power to say "no" to watching entire series after seeing the first few episodes. I still believe there is something interesting about each anime, but I've gotten pretty good at telling whether it will be worth it and if the anime will improve over the series.

I won't ever really outgrow anime in general, but I will cut my watching time down very low if I ever watch a years worth of anime. Instead of watching 4 episodes a day it will probably be lowered to 5 times a week. I'm about 6 months into it now.

Highly doubt it, unless I go blind. There are lots of series and movies that I still want to see. My interest would lessen though if anime started moving towards 3d but I cannot really see that happening.

In another 10 years who knows? For now id say no i wont.Im into now more than
i have been in years.I consider it more like the day i out grow horror movies, video games
or booze. Its a hobby not a lifestyle.I dont have to watch it all the time just whenever i
get the urge.Dont stress on it.

Well, I'm thinking about quiting watching anime. It just seem to be getting boring to me. I see most of the time where the plot is going and when the show end, it's like o well saw that coming.

For me it would depend on the quality of anime down the road. Though I can see myself rewatching things regardless.
But today I can say anime will always be a part of my life.

Nah.

But, probably will (and already am) "out-fanboying" it though.
Don't watch as much as I used to...and If I do watch a series, it better be fukken EPIC.
no more watching anime 'just to fill my time'.

I don't think I'll ever outgrow Anime, as long as they continue to make  mature themed shows,  or at least something passable as mature that has a good story and action.

Its just another valid entertainment medium to me.
Same here, tho I find it harder and harder to find a good series... the age of the target audience seems to decrease with every season :-\
Luckily, there's a lot of good older shows, and I still have a backlog so huge it'll take me a year or two to watch all that :P

Took the words right out of my mouth. I think my first anime was Fushigi Yuugi and I was engrossed to the point of no sleep or food for several days. Hand that series to me now, and I doubt I could sit through the first few episodes. My personal preferences have definitely evolved, but I will never outgrow anime.

Give me a Ghibli film thirty years from now and I will still be reduced to the wide-eyed stare that had me grinning 10 years ago. Series like Hi No Tori is a tour de force and always will be within the film/entertainment industry. I doubt I'd ever outgrow stuff by Satoshi Kon or Watanabe. The only thing that changes is the way I appreciate such works. Kind of like how we all go from young love to passionate love to old love. :]

I don't think I'll ever outgrow anime or manga (or videogames, for that matter). The world is too shitty to not have something to escape to everyday.

Same.  I only dl the first 3 episodes of a series now.  If I don't like it by then, I skip it.

mmmm...no. I'm 31 and still into it after more than 11 years. I honestly can't pinpoint how long ago I started watching anime. I know I saw stuff like D and Akira way back in high school, but I'd say it really started freshman year of college that I started actively hunting for anime. My tastes have evolved a lot since then and I find that the more series I watch the more I'm willing to watch, so I am always looking for more and different anime.

As long as it keeps going, I'll probably keep watching.

Would you outgrow watching baseball? Probably not.

Anime for me is like sports. Once you discover a passion for it, it stays in your life forever.

I've been on and off with Anime since I was 15, five years ago.

It's something I like.

I think it's got something with my constantly living in fantasy rather then reality, that's why I like it so much. At the same time I lack adventure and friends that I would prefer in my life, along with my love life, so this is like a replacement of it all. So I think my life is empty that's why I turn to this. I've got nothing against it.

Follow up:

I walked into best buy intending to get a 1TB Caviar Black for $110.

I walked out with a 1.5TB My Book (USB/FireWire/eSATA)  for $126 after taxes  ;D

Fucking dumb shits had it marked at $119 and it STILL range up at $179.98 or w/e
They had to call for a price check 3 or 4 times before idiots in computers finally responded.

I have a feeling the addiction is about to skyrocket

As of right now No, i don't think i will.  Maybe someday, but not today.  I hope to hand my collection to my kids one day, and I hope they enjoy it just as much as I do.

Though Kids aren't in the near future for me :) lol
I have typed these words and you have been forced to read them.  Now you can go cry in the corner if you like :)
