Oh come one, its December and its +7 to 2 C here (yes we are not so fucked up to have it all in Fahrenheit and inches, we have it all in Celsius and meters like normal people) when usually around this time it is -10 to 30 Celsius. Yeah, I do like warm weather, but why in the would I need only one season, when its barely + 10 to 20 Celsius?
You show we that kind of picture and dare to call it a blizzard???

that's how looks like when it's just snowing...blizzard. .. buahahahahaha

And it died as quickly as it started.  Too bad, I was hoping to see the mayhem 3 or 4 inches of snow would initiate.

if we get 12 inches we have to pray schools close. And even then no business would think about closing.
Cause even that isnt enough. I also think we are the only city that uses 100% salt to clear roads. Probably has something to do with the fact we live right next to the great salt flats.

I remember one storm I was driving in where I could not see the front of my hood it was so thick. Now that was fun. Drive and pray baby. Granted I was only doing about 35mph so even if i hit someone it would not have been to bad. The worst we had I believe was in 95 when we had 39 inches in 36 hours.

As for hot vs cold, ill take cold any day. You can put a coat on in the cold. In the heat all you can do is suffer or stay inside all day.

Sounds almost like Cleveland. Except it gets too cold here for salt, so they use a mixture of salt and some other crap. Rarely do businesses close here due to snowfall though. There could be 3-4 feet of snow and walmart would still be open. I have seen places close if it gets cold though... usually -5F (-20C) or below, but that's like a once in 10 years type thing. And it's usually the wind chill that's the killer.

In a city which has snow once every four years and average annual snowfall of a few millimeters, everybody's just looking for an excuse to have a snow day.

I cant wait to get out of Michigan to a warm place!

Try Florida, aside from today with the constant depressing rain... it's December and 70+ degrees F...

I plan on joining the Air Force soon so hopefully ill be in japan or some where else warm.

The Japanese are trying to get rid of the big American air base.  You'd have a lot better chance of ending up in Japan if you enlisted in the Navy, especially with the Afgani and Iraqi conflicts going on.

I think they're only trying to move the Okinawa air force base. But yeah, Navy would probably be better. Proin is in the Navy and he's in Japan (near Tokyo I think)

Ugh, I hate snow.  It's so cold.

It's not quite Texas here, but I still understand the lack of snow.  I'm wearing a tshirt right now (it's apparently 70F ("its fucking nice") currently).

Pretty awesome.  Snowed most of the day yesterday, but a lot of it didn't stick.

When the sun went down though, everything turned to ice.  Saw 2 car accidents, a guy in a ditch, and I almost hit a light pole :P

Gotta love how the first snow of the season and everyone forgets how to drive.

(In South-Eastern Wisconsin btw)

I actually get violently sea sick. They have pills for that sort of thing.

On Topic: jeez, that's fucking hilarious.

If I join a branch it will be Navy more then likely, the chance to land in Japan is a bonus to that.

On Topic: You have to love accidents in the snow season, hell last year I-5 was a fun one to watch on the news every three hours. We had sideways buses, bunch of collisions a few pile-ups. It was just accident central and it made it interesting, especially with the buses.

Well, I got to see a bit of mayhem.  No fewer than 30 tow trucks(in houston you get trucks from multiple companies, and multiple trucks from each company responding to every accident - there's something along the lines of an electronic coin toss and the winner gets to tow away the wreckage), at least five police cars, two ambulances, and a full blown fire truck responded to a fucking two car accident, pretty much shutting down northbound traffic on a 7 lane highway.
yea its hilarious to watch southwest cities freak out when cities like buffalo deal with FEET of snow at a time.

Yeah, if we get 2-3 inches the world closes down here.  Of course that only happens once every 5 years, and there are no salt trucks or any way to clear the roads.  So the smart people of the Southeast decide to drive 90 with road tries on wet snow.  Yeah they're Smart!

Anywho, i love the winter, but I hate the Wet Cold we have here in my area of the US.  100% humidity, 15 mph winds and only 35º F will chill you to the bone if you don't have good coat on.  It isn't the cold that gets you here, it is the wind and the wet air. I love it when people from the North come here and walk outside in a sweater on jeans and freeze thier butts off.  It makes me happy...

As a FL native, I'll take our mild "winters" + the occasional hurricane over snow and ice any day of the year.  I spent part of a winter in Philadelphia in '95 and I hated every minute of it.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

In western Washington state we don't get much snow and hardly ever a white x-mas though last year we were lucky :). There are a lot of hills around my area so everybody freaks out at the slightest hint of snow :). A year or two ago my usual trip home from the university took 4 hours instead of 25 minutes because of a few inches of snow that we got while I was in chemistry lecture - -.
I hope some snow drops by since its been close to zero C recently.

We just got hit hard too in Calgary. about 3-4 feet of snow within the last 6 hours or so, maybe less. The wind is blowing so much crap in the air, it's hard to see past 3-4 car lengths. I seriously have had much better visibility in the fog.

It's also a winter storm warning here. I don't recall ever seeing many of those, and even if, no where close to this power.

EDIT: 5ft high snow drifts now. I swear that's gotta be a record of some sort.
