Samurai X
« on: December 07, 2009, 11:13:15 PM »
Does the motion picture still belong on the blacklist? I heard ADV went under and found that they're selling off assets. This being said, I know some stuff will stay on the blacklist despite this due to their high-profile nature (ex: Neon Genesis Evangeleon :'(). Is the motion picture considered high profile, or does ADV still have rights (and therefore C&D letters) for it or what?

Im pretty sure it's just that no one has gotten around to it yet. Trust & Betrayal and Reflections were both uploaded, but no one has offered the movie yet.

Yeah. I'm grabbing the RK artbook now, have the OVAs, series, manga, and OSTs. I'm waiting on the movie now.

Samurai X? Looks like we need Kenshin-dono. Where's the man right now?

lol i just let it go.. not much you can say when thats what a lot of casual viewers know it as thanks to ADV *sigh*

Stuipid as hell and annoying, but at the very least they did include a reversible cover with the original DVD releases which was better than nothing.

Hmm, interesting... I thought you would have liked the title more, since it actually got Watsuki's seal of approval (unlike the OVAs), nee?

@ solemMonk I was replying to  Vuzedome asking where i was after the samurai x comment, lol

@ Kureshii Really? Where did you hear that? I never heard he was thrilled with the Samurai X name. Maybe he Ok'd them to do it or something buti  dont recall him on record as saying he liked it, like hes on record saying he hated the Seisouhen OAV's

As I recall, it was a comment he made in one of the after-chapter comments in the manga. I don't recall him being thrilled about it, but he did give the name an ok, and said something about the 'X' being related to the scar on Kenshin's face.

Unfortunately, I can't verify these statements since I can't find my Kenshin manga collection, and I have better things to do than download and flip through scanlations just to check this up. But it certainly doesn't clash with Watsuki being a big X-Men fan (in some of the end-of-chapter comments he even mentions which of the characters are X-Men-inspired; again, I don't have the time to verify this).

hu, thats cool, was just wondering where you had heard it, interesting, i never knew that. Or that he was an X-man fan

I hope that would be our western X-men and not Japanese shoujo adaptations, lol

Wait, wasn't there already X-Men in anime form? I think it went by the name of... hmm, what was that name again... oh, right, Darker than Black! (j/k, j/k...)

Still, a seinen anime adaptation of X-Men could be interesting, mmm mmm.
