Ratio help please.

I've read through the Wiki and did a forum search....except I didn't know exactly what to search for xD "ratio" is too broad :P

1. What is an "acceptable" ratio? (So you don't get banned)

2. How long do you have to seed a torrent after you've downloaded it before it deems your ratio to be bad? I've just downloaded Marmalade Boy as my first series on here and my ratio is terrible because it's uploading at a really slow rate even though it's set at unlimited. Should've picked a more popular show xD

3. How long of a grace period does a new member have before they are warned for having a bad ratio?

Thanks for any help :)

.5:1 is the new standard. So half as much as you download.

The requirement only refers to your total, not your individual ratios. So if one torrent isn't seeding well or at all, you can use another one to compensate for it. So if you'd like to download more, you could, but do so in moderation, of course. Building up a sort of "pool" of resources helps a lot, particularly if you get new/popular torrents to help make up for the less popular ones.

Not really sure when you get warned. I'm fairly sure you're a ways off, having joined only a few days ago. 13gb isn't too bad in the hole, especially if you're proactive about keeping it under control.

Thank you for the info ^-^

Zin79:
You won't get banned for a bad ratio; you will be warned.

You won't be banned for a bad ratio.  You will, however, get warned, which will prevent you from downloading any more until your ratio has improved to an acceptable level.

Your overall ratio is what matters, not your individual ratio on any particular torrent.  That said, the time it takes to seed back a torrent to 1:1 varies tremendously, depending on, among other things, the size and popularity of the torrent and your upload speed.
