Saiyuki 1st Season
(1/1)

Saw a thread for this series mistakenly posted in the Anime Forum, so I thought I'd bring it over here. Requesting the first season of Saiyuki, to go along with the Reload and Reload Gunlock torrents we already have.
The best version would appear to be Anime-MX's release. It's .mkv, vfr, h264, has the 5.1 English audio, and includes both subtitle tracks (.srt). Second best would be E-D, which is similar except for having 2.0 English audio + vobsubs (and we know how popular those are). The other dual-audio versions have some kind of drawback, like being 576x432, missing the Songs/Signs track, being .ogm, or having separate external subs. Imo the vobsubs aren't that big of a problem with Saiyuki, since it's far more entertaining dubbed. But that's just me.
There is also a fansub version by SpectreAnime. I don't know how good or bad it is, but it certainly could be uploaded if somebody wants to do so.

Saiyuki / Gensou Maden Saiyuuki
(AniDB)
If I look at AniDB it seems the three best dual audio possibilities for BakaBT are: Anime-MX, E-D and a-S.
When contacted CvP said he thought the a-S release was a very good one, but he suspected people would go for E-D, mainly because of the 576x432 resolution and a-S being XviD.
Personally, just by looking at the specs, I would go for Anime-MX (has 5.1 audio + SRT + signs track, E-D has VobSub + signs track, a-S has SSA and no signs track), but that release is hard to get.
Is there perhaps someone who compared the above releases (video quality) at the time they were released?
Would like to see it here...
And to appease Zalis: for a fansub/Group C release SpA could be uploaded. ;)

I actually am planning to offer this after I finish my Rurouni Kenshin project so you should not have to wait too long ;)
macros74:
But E-D I presume?
TheProfileth:
Yes unless I can get my hands on AnimeMX but I already have E-D but I will look for AnimeMX though.
Edit: My project will probably take atleast until the weekend, so instead of waiting I will just offer Saiyuki tomorrow.
Still not a trace of the AnimeMX encode, it makes me wonder just what at happened to them or where they are, maybe they end up with the lost socks and Legacy-Anime encodes :'(
