Tech help:Sudden failure of fullscreen
(1/1)
Aesthesis:
Hey guy's, got a new problem to bother you with. I've tried all the usual channels and my situation is far to specific for Google to be useful.
Okay, I have CCCP and I've never had any problems with it but as of yesterday Media Player Classic (my standard player) has stopped functioning correctly. I have a dual screen set up between an LG monitor and my Sony LCD TV and despite the limited resolution on my LCD (1280x768) I've never had any trouble watching video as I please. But since yesterday, whenever I try to fullscreen MPC on my LCD all I get is this odd reddish black filling my screen. The video still plays and you can hear the sound, it even works fine full screen on my other monitor. I've always used the LCD for my video viewing as it leaves my main screen and taskbar free for other things since I often multi-task while watching video.
The only thing I changed before it broke that comes to mind is that I used a few websites to calibrate my LCD screens brightness, contrast, gamma, phase, etc as my screens were both very different in terms of brightness and colour and it was stopping me from doing my designs well.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hmm. I have a dual monitor setup and have my PC hooked up to my TV where I watch all my anime/pirated movie goodness.
I would do a few things. Check the refresh rate on the TV and video card in question to make sure everything is peachy. In fact, try to set the refresh rate and resolution at the lowest setting to make sure. Also try changing what your primary monitor and secondary monitor is. Try messing with clone/dual screen options as well.

Will do, I'll edit this post with results.
edit: Its really odd. I don't get any choice in terms of refresh rate in my LCD's menu so I have to assume its 60, the same as on my card. Swapping the screens around didn't help, it still gives the same red/black on full screen and only on the LCD. It might be worth me mentioning that I use my second screen as a desktop extension since the same red/black shows up when I move the MPC window from one screen to the other. ...Wait, it just worked! I moved the window to the left (LG) screen maximised it there then dragged it back to the LCD, went to fullscreen it and it worked! ?
It seems that moving the window back and forth once or twice makes the fullscreen work on the LCD, but its still the same problem when I first open MPC. Maybe its because I've actually been opening the window in the LCD screen of late instead of opening it on my monitor and dragging it across like normal? But I don't do that all the time so all I can guess is that the problem is intermittent and moving the window about fixes it? I don't get it.
