These are pics if my first accident! Total cost of repair about $5400

This guy ran a red light and hit me he was going about 35 Mp/h

5400 for repairs? How many miles on it? What year is your car?

Might be cheaper to scrap it. Which the insurance company (if they're paying) will probably do if in the same ballpark value wise.

Im not sure on the miles since its my moms car but its a 2005 Impala and yes the insurance is covering everything

Edit: it has about 60k miles on it

Hmm... According to Kelley's Blue book, an average 2005 Impala in good condition with 80k miles is worth around $5200 private party value.

I'm kinda curious what the insurance company will do. Keep us posted.

pfft michigan. You got nothign on us Californians. Driving down to LA you see people regularly driving in the breakdown lane durring traffic =P I went down there for D1GP and it was bumper to bumper with a cop arbitrarly giving people tickets in that lane and no one cared, they just kept driving

I feel you though, i got t boned in the same situation. It was some 16 year old cunt who was in a friggin rental car o_O just blew through a red light and tboned me going about 40. I dont get how she had a rental car, i thought you had to be 21 to drive one.

funny side story, she had some lame out of state insurance that tried to be difficult. they claimed that it was partially my fault and that i should have payed attention in the intersection.. ya... ok, im suposed to pay attention at a solid green light (hadn't just turned green there were cars ahead of me) and watch for people running lights at 40mps in a 25mph zone, lol.

Michigan? Heh, don't worry we got streets like that. There's a road where I swear street lights are only 'suggestions'. People drive through the left turn lane (and no, they don't turn left). It's awesome.. in a scary omg im going to die driving on this road sort of way.

As for rental cars, I'm fairly certain it's even older than 21. (for insurance issues) I thought it was 24, I could be wrong though.

@Your side story: Well you should pay attention at all times. There are some fucking retarded drivers out there. (Especially after first snowfall in Michigan, I swear I almost got hit 5-6 times that day) Not saying that the accident was in any part your fault, just saying it's always a good idea to watch for the idiots.

Well i guess i didn't mention that i was in the 2nd to left lane and there was a Cata bus(our local bus system) blocking my view and i couldn't see oncoming traffic.

and ya, you can pay attention but theres nothing you can dow hen just driving through a green light. If it just turns green you can look before going, but a solid green light with other cars ahead of you.. wtf are you supposed to do? lol. Anyway that didn't fly at all, my insurance company ate them for breakfast.

Driving here in cali, watch for idiots is a given. Im so glad we have a cel phone law here now. You still see people on them a lot but not as much.

If he's under 25, he's probably not allowed to drive it. His mom is probably the only one. Only a couple agencies will allow someone between 18-24 to get a rental car, and only then with crazy markup for insurance.

Found this out the hard way when I flew to california on vacation with a couple buddies of mine and needed to rent a car. I was 23 at the time.

I'm pretty sure rental car use is only allowed from age 21 and above. To actually RENT the damn thing, you have to be 25 years old or above.

Get the other person to cover it via insurance. It should be their total fault. Argue you tried to avoid the accident by stopping but the fucker didn't even try avoiding and clipped you. (If the other guy is being difficult) I mean, yours is a shear and not a full T-Bone.

Well I had a small motorcycle collision, my bike was wrecked my body was unharmed.

They took me to the hospital just for a checkup, test, x-rays cad-scans, you know the norm.
