leave your shoes off sign?
« on: December 21, 2009, 04:01:31 AM »
anyone got a cute/funny anime pic i could use to make a sign to put on my door? I have a no shoes policy in my room, i have really nice tiger print carpet. Id like to have the whole house shoeless but that wont work. At least im able to keep my bedroom that way, and friends and family all know, but guests and other peoples friends who stop by wind up stomping in before i can tell them to take them off. I want to put a friggin sign on my door so it stops happening. Just printing out 'leave your shoes at the door' is kinda boring though =P Maybe something in a 'motivational pic' style. Im trying to think of pics from shows but cant really think of anything. Closest thing was the toradora scene where she gets a shoe in the face but that doesn't really work.

Anyone got anything that might work, or can think of a scene i may try to snag? Hell maybe even just a chibi bowing and asking or something, or something with L, he always had no shoes =P

I don't really have any ideas, it's just that I'm surprised that people don't take their shoes off in the first place. Where I'm from (or at least the people I know) it's considered rude to leave your shoes on unless the owner of the house says otherwise, not to mention that wearing shoes is just so uncomfortable in the first place =/

I'm like that too. I tell people that if they want to enter into my room, they need to take off their shoes.

Instead of a sign, how about an area to put shoes where yours are already there + have some sandals or something they can change to? Then put a note above it. Not expensive to set up. Maybe 30 bucks max including quite a few pairs of slippers/sandals.
This is your home now. So take advantage of everything here, except me.

Now that's strange, we have no shoe policy in all the normal houses here. It's a common knowledge - when you enter a house you take of your shoes at the door...
here a chibi L with a place where you can enter what ever txt you want

LOL kureshii that one may be a bit harsh =P

Ya no shoes period would be great but not everyone's down with that. Besides we got a lot of construction going on right now so the house is a pretty big mess. No shoes would be kinda pointless. Maybe when its finally done we can give it a shot.. but for now im very anal about my room since it has been redone. The carpet was really expensive and is super plush, feels real good beneath your feet.

lol, woot tiger print ;P

@fohfoh There actually is plenty of room to put shoes outside the bedroom, and my slippers DO sit outside (i leave shoes downstairs and wear slippers around most of the house, barefoot in my room). But people still just walk in when they're over if they dont know and its really annoying.

Tnx harpy, but that L chibi doesn't really work.. a bit too cute, and i was thinking of something bowing.

any other ideas or thoughts on a pic that might work? I found this:

which might kinda work. lol, not sure

After my nieces b-day a few days back, where several people walked in with their shoes on back to back i really gotta put something up

Crop that bad ass wallpaper and set it as a demotivational

 "Shoes,
Leave them at the door please"

I don't think your going to find any better pictures that are more perfect than that! The little tiger just makes that picture!

lol my friends all know, its when other people have guests over that people just kinda wander in it seems. Its only happened a few times but its still really irritating, its easier to just put a sign on the door so people i dont know dont just stomp inside in their shoes. At least no ones tracked mud in or anything but its still annoying and gross, im always totally barefoot in here.

your probably right i think that Toradora ones gonna be as good as i get. I got it all set up but it looks like my printers broken >_< ah well i'll have to bring it over to a friends house or something, tnx guys

I always take my shoes off when entering a house. It's just natural reflex. Plus we have so many shoes at our front door it's ridiculous. People just walk in and take off their shoes to throw in the pile.

but i guess i can use your sad kitty and throw the text up in red, tnx a lot! Its actually funny my niece saw it and wanted one for her room =P

@smokey lol, hell no. Im a gamer not a 10 year old or a teenage girl

question, if we ever do somehow get to a full shoeless house here whats the best way to do it? do people just walk around in their barefeet/socks, or do we provide sandals, or what? since im the only one that does it i have my own pair of sandals i use

clean the floor regularly and walk around in socks... if you have a really cold floor material like stone or tiles though I'd recommend providing a pouch of guest-slippers (usually textile)... something like this for example: they usually come unisize or in an assortment of different sizes.

K.  I was just trying to preserve the color scheme, another worthless remnant from my art schooling.  :P

And generally, yes, there are usually provided sandals.
