I saw the trailer @youtube and watched here and there Zero-Raws rip. Seemed pretty interesting show with awesome animation and CG. Bugger that I can't understand Japanese :|

The origins are based on 2001 Nights (manga). Hope I'm not the only one who's waiting for this and that some group picks it

Just finished watching [Formula] DVD release (704x480, x264 ~966 Kbps, AC3 6-ch with softsubs) . For a ~40 min short story, Elliptical Orbit was quite entertaining. The graphics and style reminded me timely from Appleseed, remembering it is "latest directorial project from Appleseed producer".

Formula doesn't have ETA for Symbiotic Planet; as it's their “in the meantime” project. And they are going to do also the BD's.

If I knew you were talking about these two movies I would already have looked into this thread earlier ^^' Thought it was just another To Love-Ru OVA thread

I had this on my to watch list since I found it on AniDB and just this morning (my time) I found it on Formula's site.

It does remind you of Appleseed because it's the same director of Appleseed and Vexille.

The movie itself was entertaining but one could see that the budget wasn't as big as for Appleseed or Vexille imo.

I laughed at the laser beams. They looked ridiculous. Other than that it was an interesting movie. I even was surprised by the movie at the end when it was revealed that

EDIT: SS-Eclipse released the DVD version of both OVAs, after watching the second OVA I'm probably going to make an offer if no one else has made an offer until then.

Don't know if they're going to do the BDs

Yeah, the laser beams were ridiculous, but it was cool when they started to cut the door ~where Dan and Maria were locked.

The elliptical orbit was kind of slow phased, but I loved the plot and story telling, graphics and 5.1 surround.

And when Maria was having a conversation with Dan saying: "Thirteen years from now, I'll be in a cyrogenic capsule again". Was the first "big" surprise. That Maria has spent almost her entire lifetime in cyrogic capsules while every ppl she knew had gotten older.

She's an old woman xD

I saw it released by SS earlier and I was surprised because I was just about to go searching for it. Downloading now so if you offer I will help seed. Looks very good. It sort of reminds me of a cross between a lot of the American cartoons like Dragon Booster and Stargate or something. Definitely eager to finish downloading.

Looking forward to Symbiotic Planet because it was one of my favorite arcs from the manga.
I'll enjoy this project because it's scifi, but I have problems getting into this animation style (eg. vexille, appleseed)
