AVG Corrupt? Anti-virus

<< < (4/8) > >>

SirSkyRider:
You can never escape the possibility of your anti-virus program being infected itself. If you really need an anti-virus scanner, get one of those Knoppix Live Discs with a proper scanner, then boot from your CD/DVD-Drive and scan your harddisks. You can download the ISOs to these discs off the web - a practical solution I use when checking up the computers from my father's workplace.

WRONG. Spybot only picks up spyware and malware, not actual viruses.

Lord of Fire:
AVG and Avast = fail; Norton and McAfee = epic fail. Whatever you can get from the paid AVs, you can get from the free ones and more (to a certain extent anyway).

Avira has been my AV for nearly 8 years. Its not perfect, but it beats the other two.

AVG, sure, but where's your evidence for Avast?
