erious:
The new Key Project, anime is to start in April.
Plot Summary: In a world after death, angels fight for their fate and their future. Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen, rebels against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. On the other hand, Tenshi, the chairperson of the student council for the world after death, battles against the SSS members. SSS members utilize armed weaponry to battle it out against the angels harnessing supernatural powers.
Otonashi is the main protagonist of Angel Beats!. After dying, he lost his memories while he was still alive(what.). He becomes involved with the SSS and their fight against God.

And the newest PV: http://www.angelbeats.jp/movie/pv06.html - watch it! Actual animation footage this time, and it looks great.
Frankly, I'm not that big of a Key fan - but this shit sounds awesome, yo. I don't know why there would be a high school in the afterlife, or where do they get weapons to fight against angels, but all that ridiculousness just makes it awesome. If you start with a premise that makes this little sense, it's going to be either great or retarded. Not to mention, since everyone is dead already, there's a huge potential for dramatic stories - and drama is what Key does best.
The anime is going to be made by P.A. Works, which is quickly rising to be one of the best studios in anime these days - and this shows in the PV. Some KyoAni fans will probably be disappointed, but frankly, I think it's for the best - especially considering the direction KyoAni heads in now.
I wasn't that excited about Angel Beats before - sure, I knew about it, but wasn't interested enough to bother reading about the story. But after seeing the PV, and actually reading about the series, it became one of the top things to wait for in spring 2010.

tl;dr
go watch the PV, it's awesome.

Chiyachan:
[11:04] <Chiyachan> On one hand, it looks nothing like previous Key stuff.
[11:04] <Chiyachan> On the other, it's gonna be fricking sweet cos Key has gud storylines.

Looks pretty slick. Except you say:

That's blasphemy sir. We don't like your kind around here.  :P

Unlike Clannad, Air and Kanon which they were original creator, Visual arts/Key is doing the production on this one. Not entirely sure what difference is, or if it makes a difference but hey. If it's Key, I'm definitely gonna give it a watch.

You say that like it's a bad thing!
 ;D
And don't get me wrong, I liked most of Key stuff just enough - Kanon even more. But most of them were not exactly... amazing. With a possible exception of Clannad AS, which seemed to be the best Key thing to date, but which I dropped due to finally reading the spoilers(and I'm still waiting to get in the mood to finish it).
Key does great characters, great drama, and decent stories - but most of the things they made up to date had just too many flaws for me to become a fan.

This probably represents my vote on it too. This looks like it has alot more action than previous Key productions. I am slightly worried about whether or not they will be able to pull it off but the rest of my mind is going, "Yay! Key is going to include some action. This is going to be SWEET!". It doesn't look like it will top my favourites but from that video I would probably set it at about 2nd or 3rd if it goes well.
