did with K-On! and SoRaWoNoTo.

But it's so much more fun to say "K-ON goes to War!"  8)

Anyhow, it didn't even click for me that Yuri likes Otonashi until she stormed away when he commented that Shiina liking cute things makes her cute.  I just figured the guy that fell came up on the back side of her and took her "hold onto whatever" statement too literally.

Yeah, a little too literally...

Edit at ep 3:
hats off to Key
l nearly dropped a tear when

seems like interacting with NPCs isn't the only way to get erased and reborn, also, what Yurippe says seems troublesome, if what she thinks is correct Key has prepared a rather cruel story for us this time.

I've got nothing. Sad yet happy in a way.  I almost teared up.
Good episode and a nice balance after the comedy in Ep2.

I think I'll have to watch it again just for the music.

Wasn't expecting much from this series from the uninspired character design, but it's surprisingly good.

To me, ep 3 was kind of average. The plot was really unoriginal, and it felt to me like the songs were stuck in because they were short material for the episode (the latter song makes sense because of plot significance, but two songs?). I was kind of let down because there isn't really an ongoing plot so far in the series, and I thought something would be set up by now.
Nobody's ever asked me but just in case you're wondering, my name is gibberish.

not gonna bet she is, l would rather bet the reason shes there, l don't think she has much choice in it, l think she has no idea what is going on outside the world they are in, at least not much knowledge but not gonna dwell into it because newy will rage again about me being creative.

If what Yurippe is suspecting is right l think they might change tactics later on and stop fighting angel, and start to try turning her into ally, l'm refering to what l see in OP, at the very least l don't think the diversion team is over, altough Angel doesn't say much l don't think she had much chance to explain herself to the resistance, and they don't really want to talk to her eighter.

I don't get why some think the angel is evil, in the first episode we were indirect told by Yurippe that the angel is just doing what she is being told by god.

I'm starting to wonder if this is going to end with anything that WOULDN'T be controversial by western standards.  Either they're going to have to say there is no god, god doesn't do jack shit, or they're going to have to show some depiction of god.

No one has ever said Angel was evil that I recall.  Consider that their patches say "Rebels Against God", they don't really care for anything she does regardless of her reasons.  Honestly, I kind of felt bad for her when she was taking down those signs.  The SSS kind of pushes her into that position.

Edit: Thanks Havoc. That's what I get for not previewing.

fix your spoliers,
l don't really care how the western audience will take it, l'm from central europe and l'm an atheist, much like most of my friends are, l personally don't see anything wrong with it, as some of my catholic friends are watching a lot of religious anime in wich the religion is the bad guys, conversly ppl tend to give the church too much credit, if you belive in a god then youre free to it, church is an institution "working" in gods name, you can belive in god without alligning with the church, and if the church doesn't like this it's their problems.

Enjoyed episode 3, with the drama expected from KEY.

This show is far from being anti-religious.

If you ask me, they are in purgatory.
Angel is as forgiving as an Angel.
Haruhi is very worried that there is no God.

stop calling her Haruhi, it's Yurippe.

yeah l think so too, yurippe already has doubts, but shes not sure so she doesn't want to talk about it, l don't think Tenshi knows why they resist, as they don't really talk much, we still don't know how Yurippe died, l can bet my lunch it was one bad way of dying, and knowing Key they'll give us something teary, we also have to find out more about Otonashi, and why he doesn't have memories.

Last time something got in my way before I could watch it, but I finally saw the first 3 episodes today.
It's a great anime.
It's not perfect, though.
I can't help but think that it's hurt by the standard cutesy character designs. Though they have a certain degree of originality, it's only if you compare them to designs in the same category. This hurts the atmosphere of the show, which should be the most important part of the series. Still, NaGa's designs aren't as bad as Hinoue Itaru's, so there's that.
While we're on the visuals, P.A. Works does a great job, especially on the backgrounds and enviroment, but their reliance on 3D models for character animation is visible and slightly annoying.
Moving on to other matters, Otonashi is annoying. He sometimes acts like a retard, and his indignation after entering Tenshi's room was completely out of place. He should know by now that things in this world are not as they seem, and being concerned about privacy then causing grievous bodily harm makes him look rather silly. Not to mention, he's almost completely devoid of a distinct personality, but that might be because he lacks  his memories. Oh, and she looks like Shirou form F/SN. Only thing that makes him tolerable is Kamiya Hiroshi's voice.
Other character that I felt was underdeveloped was Yuri. For someone who's supposed to be the beloved leader of the rebellion, she completely lacks charisma. I expect more depth to her character later in the series though.
Now we're getting to the most serious matter, that's not exactly a flaw, at least not yet. This series attempts to tackle a very serious problem, basically what's the meaning and purpose of living in a unjust world where you can die unfairly at any time, and can a God exist in such a world. How will the show deal with those matters is the biggest question. I just hope that this time we'll get something more then pseudo-philosophical contrived bullshit that will only seem deep to those who never gave much thought to such matters. And that we won't have a conclusion that only works within the show's universe, with it's afterlife and all.
This is also the show's greatest potential. It remains to be seen how they'll deal with it, but if it's done well enough, Angel Beats might as well become Key's magnum opus that'll serve as a great conclusion to their previous works.

Miscellaneous things:
Yuri x Tenshi is Angel Beats' OTP.

well stab me 10 time with a halberd and say l'm not dead if l come back to life after a while.

this is afterlife, they simply can't die, doesn't mean they are alive or dead, l think the show will end with Yurippe and Otonashi being alone and he regains memories and they both accept their fates, that english talking dude is so damn cool, of all side characters l think hes the best.

l really wonder where this will go from here on out, while they discovered a piece of Tenshi information they lost one member who accepted herself and her fate, so from now on they will need to be mor ecareful in defying the Tenshi, altough l think it would make more realistic (kinda) if they started thinking of getting more information about the situation itself from tenshi instead of constant fighting.

Also, I'd prefer if there weren't any romance, involving Otonashit at least.

EDIT: lol Otonashit, typos are awesome sometimes.
