I might be in the minority about this, but I've found UTW's to be my preferred release. I've had too much free time so I've watched what's been released from all three groups.  I can't judge translation quality in terms of accuracy (there are some differences in word choice here and there), but in terms of readability I've found UTW's to flow better.  My ranking UTW>SS>Mazui

Just my 2 cents, but honestly it'll come down to what you prefer. I'd check them all out and choose.  I'm not archiving until BDs are out anyhow.

When I first saw this ed I was thinking they should fade the characters from the picture out after they "die".

l wouldn't bet all would dissapear except yurippe, that would be just too sad, even for Key standards, but the ed song does mold tears for some reason, and l'm affraid l will be crying like a pup by the end of the show, at the very least l think they figured out things that have relation about dissapearing,

looks like just interacting with "ordinary" students isn't the only way, seems that fulfilling your goal is also key to "ascension", the girl fulfilled herself with the song she made, and wanted a lot of ppl to listen to that song, she failed in life, but succeeded in death, if he caught that  ball he'd probbaly dissapear, and l don't think choice has much to do with it, situation creates it'self allowing for thisngs to finish, at least thats what l think about it

Anyway, episode 4 was... impressive, in a way. Right from the start it hinted at

Hinata disappearing, and played out PERFECTLY predictable. Up to the point where Otonashit asks Hinata whether he's going to disappear. Wait what? Protagonist actually noticing the same things as viewer, and not being an oblivious idiot? I'm amazed! No, seriously, I didn't see it coming, and I think it was great. Then we have the conclusion itself, and if anyone have seen that coming, I applaud you. It remains to be seen whether it was because Yui really is that dumb, or is she simply feigning stupidity, but it was completely unexpected, and subverted the anticipated dramatic climax perfectly.
Now, there was also one thing that worried me - Hinata was given something to "calm his nerves" from his senpai. I hope that we're not going to be treated to some ridiculous shit like Hinata's death being caused by marijuana overdose or something comparably stupid. But knowing how ignorant some Japanese writers are about drugs, I worry about that a little.
 

I don't care for baseball nor silly comedy all that much, so I didn't enjoy this episode as much as the earlier ones, but it was still good. Although Yui so far is a horrible character, she has some potential.
Oh, and the new OP is pretty nice, but it still lacks the spark to be truly great. On the other hand, the ED is growing on me.

That's what bugged me about Inasawa's ascension/enlightenment/whatever. What was her goal in that? To have the song be heard or to save someone via music? Or both?  Who did she save if it's the latter? Yui? The SSS members? The baseball catch seemed more like he wanted to change that event to make the drugs never have happened and save himself in the process. At least, that's how I saw it.

Otonashi asking if he was going to vanish didn't come as much of a surprise to me after his musings at the end of Ep3.  His coming from the outside and not knowing the "rules" lets him see outside of the box.   But at least he finally showed some sign of caring about anything except whining.

And, yeah, I laughed at the episode and I decided that Tenshi looked cute in her baseball outfit.

the sad thing will be her staying all alone, l like the idea that they will advance or something like, l just don't want to see her alone, and knowing her past, at least that bit that was really sad, she will be stubborn till the end of the universe if shes not gonna get pushed and facing herself, l don't think Tenshi is a bad guy, but l also don't think Yurippe is wrong with her resistance, she lost a lot in her life in a very cruel way, l think it's quite natural for her to be really pissed at God for that, l understand her completely, the sad thing will be if she will be left all alone, so far no one new is showing up, and it seems like they will only start to dissapear.

l really want to see how this will develop onwards, but at the same time l'm a bit hesitant, the story already becomes complicated, altough this episode had quite a lot of laugh, especially the broom thing

just as l suspected well have one or two eps of cooldown and then again some serious stuff.

We'll see when it happens, but it might be that everyone leaves before her, and the last one(probably Otonashit) while disappearing makes her realize that she actually DID protect everyone this time. Not by stopping them from disappearing, but by allowing them to fulfill what they failed to do while they were alive, and pass away satisfied(as opposed to, just accepting that their unfair deaths and disappearing, which might be what happens if you attend school normally). After realizing that, she would disappear herself.
Not that I think that's going to happen, because I'm still hoping for a twist.

Or maybe Yurippe is God and gathers people around her to help them pass away in a good way. After everyone that knows her disappears, she just starts the rebellion again. It sure would make up for some things that don't really make sense so far.

May i ask why you hate Otonashi, compared to Rental Magica oh god that sucked. He is like the holy grail of a developable character that isn't a girly annoying piece of shit.
At least the main character is not Nobi or Noda. Noda would waste 5 eps being an idiot, and Nobi would drag on the chain of wimp'ass harem leads that i wanted so badly to end.

Anyway im glad Hinata did not disappear, when the ball was coming towards him i froze. ARE YOU GOING TO DESTROY THE GENDER BALANCE KEY!? EH ARE YOU!? Glad the comedy duo is safe in the meantime.

Well it appears quite abit of time passed before Yuri herself died, as her flashback / current self have a year gap. Must have been in a car accident.

And when the inevitable end comes it may become so sad and painful she may choose to disappear forever, abit glad that everyone accomplished their goals.

I almost feel like Otonashi is coming into his own a bit and that Yuri is taking a backseat (or at least keeping to her lofty authority position). I am also unsure whether or not i actually like Yui. I really hope she gets developed well to make up for her being so annoying (or just taking out some of the annoying juice in her, ether one would be great).

And yet, isn't that outcome inevitable? I mean, doesn't it seem like we are going to see each character eliminated one by one?

Now, the thing is, I might be getting my facts wrong, but it also seems to me that Yuri was there before any of the other current members, which might mean that she has been there for many "cycles" already, seeing new friends come and go, and always being left alone in the end.

If that is the case, then the obvious plot development is going to be that Otonashi realizes that eventually everyone will move on except Yuri, so he will come up with a way to "save her from her fate" by helping HER to move on instead, and leaving himself alone in the battlefront to greet the next group of rebels.

Actually, wait, no, that won't work because it ignores Tenshi. Tenshi is too cute to ignore, so that means we aren't supposed to ignore her... I dunno, I'm sure someone's got a better theory...

there really isn;t a timetable for the world they are in, perhaps Yuri is one of the eldest there, the memories did quite tell what timetable Yurippe comes from, we only seen humans trees her house etc,
nothing really informative, she could be there for ages or only years, the way l see it she was awakened by one of the earlier "guests" to the world, taken out from among the NPCs hard to say at this point but most possible, that person whomever it was, moved on, and yuri found out the truth about the world and started gathering peeps,
notice that there aren't any older guys in the resistance, don't know why but the pnly adult seems to be that guy from the guild, knowing why Yurippe disobeys Tenshi is obvious and understandable,

l personally wouldnt be able to accept such fate made by the GOD, l think this anime is directed at humans that folishly belive that god has some plan towards everyone, they shown a very nasty experience of having your sibling killed practicaly on your eyes because you couldn't find any treasures, what god would be so cruel to plan something like that ? and the answer that priests are able to give for such questions as why did god plan this ?

they have no answer, prooves that faith is something personal and not belonging to gods, l'm glad l'm atheist, l can only blame mistakes on humanity and myself, blaming bad things on an etity that doesn't exist is just plain stupid,

l think that if otanashi do help out yurippe to move on, he will have a chat with tenshi to change her strategy, to inform about what happened in the past, with their group, what is wrong with this messed up world, not to do the same thing she does, because the way she does it is hostile, and then he wil lask tenshi to help him move on, and most probably to be with yurippe when he is reborn, so she isn't alone again, everything also depends on what was otanashi's past.

Otonashi can't move on because he can't remember what he is actually rebelling against. The mechanism for moving on is making peace with your past, but how can you make peace with that which you cannot remember?
Yuri is also going to have a hard time moving on. It's not like they can re-create the circumstances of her death/downfall and help her cope with them... Unless she meets someone from her past who tells he it wasn't her fault, or something.
Actually! Wait! Maybe this is where Tenshi comes in! What if Tenshi was some incarnation of Yuri's siblings or parents, or something of that nature? Again, the idea is only half formed... I'm not sure where I'm going with this...
