(click to show/hide)Or he does regain his memories slowly over the course of the show and at the end, helps Haruhi disappear, which helping someone in that way (being a savior of sorts), was his wish/dream. So they disappear together.

How do you know that it will have 23 eps? MyAnimeList tells me that there will be 13 and AniDB won't answer that question clearly either. :P

I don't know for sure, I could be wrong. But anidb has 23 listed:

And with as much success as their shows and VN's have been having recently, I'd be surprised if it wasn't a 23-24 ep show.

The ep number on AniDB is the number of everything about that show ;) you see those eps below the grouplist at the bottom.
