It did seem a little rushed. Almost like a 13 ep series. Though, Angel beats is going to have 23 eps.[...]

How do you know that it will have 23 eps? MyAnimeList tells me that there will be 13 and AniDB won't answer that question clearly either. :P

I don't know for sure, I could be wrong. But anidb has 23 listed:

And with as much success as their shows and VN's have been having recently, I'd be surprised if it wasn't a 23-24 ep show.

The 23 is composed of:

13 eps
1 Interview
8 Promos
1 commercial

The ep number on AniDB is the number of everything about that show ;) you see those eps below the grouplist at the bottom.

Interesting. Disappointing too, I guess. Was hoping for a Clannad like epic. They did alot with 13 eps and the original Kanon, but we're already 6 eps in and it's not Kanon caliber at this same marker. I guess what I want to say is ... FFFFFFFUUUUUU

So six episodes in and I love this show.  However, something has been bothering me since they started giving out the details of the past lives.  This might have been brought up already, but I haven't read all the previous posts.

Its possible I am just reading too much into this, but it seems to fit to me at least.

Haha, someone believes the same conspiracy theories I do:

Well, maybe "believes" is a bit strong word, but still. Yeah, I had similar feelings, but have they since subsided a bit. Still, it would make sense. Also, some nitpicking - Yuri said herself she died later, Hinata supposedly got hit by a car(and even if he overdosed, no, drug overdose is NOT automatically a suicide, unless it's specifically intended as a means of killing oneself)
But no matter what it is, I expect a major twist, rather sooner then later - it's obvious that something needs to happen now, unless they were rushing this so much for no reason.

I'm pretty sure they all died. Consider the singer. She had a brain aneurysm, and lost the ability to talk. Why could she then talk? We know there is something supernatural about this place since she disappeared. Furthermore, the main character almost certainly was not carried in. He just appeared. My main argument against the "they aren't dead" theory is that someone was cured of something that should have left her incapable of singing.

If they are indeed alive they would have to go well out of their way to explain those things away. I've seen Kannon, Air (both), S1 Clannad, and some of S2 CLannad. This tale is suppose to be Key-esque. From what I can tell from other Key stories, they aren't going to pull some bullshit out of their asses. They are too high class for that.

[edit] I forgot to mention that they have that "I can't die because I'm already dead" thing going for them. They have regeneration 5 versus everything except fulfilling their dreams.

They said so far that they are in the place that people who had terrible things happen in life or just crummy lives end up. My best guess is the obvious they cant let go of their past cant move on form the things that scarred them. Once they come to terms with their past they get reborn most likely into better lives than their previous life. There may be a twist or two on the way but thats largely how i see it fleshing out.

lol

Ep 6 was not really good... Only Otonashi and Tenshi saved that episode... Is it right to assume that the new president is done for (and obliterated)?

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

we don't know how Yurippe (Not Haruhi so stop that shit already!) died, because she didn't reveal it yet, we do know what happened to her in her childhood, considering the fact that her childhood self was very little and her self now is fairly in teenage state means she got to live a little longer, everything will be probably revealed later, but her reason to stay remains the same as she want to protect everyone.

Iwasawa's life was to enjoy singing and wanted to sing for ppl, but her dream was crushed by an illness, she fulfilled that dream in the other world, so she could move on.

best way for him to act now is to eighter resign or start acting up for his position, tough l think it would be best to give the position back to Tachibana.

More specifically,  She was able to sing the song she (presumably) wrote on her death bed.  Saying she just wanted to sing for people would have made her disappear after her first concert :P.  As with the baseball guy (Hitana?), he missed the game winning catch, but had the chance to get it in ep4 (though failed due to Yui's antics).

Haven't seen episode 6 yet.  But common knowledge should point to this world being the world where you are able to accomplish your biggest regrets in life before you move on to greener pastures (A kind of, "You can only enter Heaven with a pure heart" theme).  Pointing to an overall life lesson being "Live life without regrets".

Hopefully I only stated the obvious in the last paragraph  ;)

And I'm really hoping it's not a "Hey lookie! They ain't dead!" ending...  That would be epicly lame  :P

l don't think Key will pull something like that, in the most likely event they wil lall progress forward and be reborn as themselves anew, and will most likely end up in the same classroom, not really knowing why or how they get the feeling of knowing eachother, l'm only wondering if our theory on Tachibana is correct so far, if so, l wish her happiness in her new life, if not it will be sad to see such a cute girl alone again.
