(click to show/hide)Well she is a Nagato clone isn't she? Makes sense... Digital Reality Distortion!
Is anyone else noticing though that they haven't really shown us any of the actual mechanics of this world outside of what Yuri and the gang specifically want to show us? Nothing that they've told Otonashi about this new world he's in has been shown to be true besides the whole "you can't die!" thing and the fact that god herself is not shown ether. Possible twist in this... at least i hope it's deliberate, because they don't do a very good job of giving this fantasy world any physical parameters. I demand logic!
Stsin:
After seeing episode two, I've already decided that this will be my favorite of this season.
Haruhi and Nagato in the afterworld, with Key's comedy and the intense drama that is sure to come.
(click to show/hide)They can only make what they remember in detail. The big gun fails since they tried guessing at it.
Well, Haruhi obviously likes Kyon, and he's starting to feel the same. Shown when she kicks the other guy off her, which made me LOL. The big part of the story will be Kyon getting his memories back. I'm sure there will be a major twist to it. Maybe they knew each other from the previous life? Maybe even having their deaths related, though Haruhi has been there for awhile? Also curious on how Haruhi died. She says no one is there from committing suicide.
As long as they don't do a Jacob's Ladder or Shutter Island twist, I'd be happy.

I think I like the "You can't die" component. It allows for characters to die in hilariously glorious ways over and over again. The whole second episode was created to have fun with this, but I hope it continues in future eps (and I'm pretty sure it will).
Havoc10K:
the rule "you can't die" doesn't mean they are completely immortal in a sense.
l liked the little story Yuri told us, she has all the reasons of the world to hate God. Thats Key for you there.
that bit made the series even more interesting.
l wonder why you guys keep reffering to Haruhi, since altough characters and stuff resemble Haruhi, it's Angel Beats, don't make the same mistakes you did with K-On! and SoRaWoNoTo.

I'm just going to agree and say I loved the second episode. If they keep it up it will definitely become a "must watch ASAP" show. The deaths and movie shout-outs were great. TK and Shiina are awesome. Anyone recognize what film the waterfall scene was from (if it was)? I keep thinking I should know it, but I can't seem to place it.
Anyhow, it didn't even click for me that Yuri likes Otonashi until she stormed away when he commented that Shiina liking cute things makes her cute. I just figured the guy that fell came up on the back side of her and took her "hold onto whatever" statement too literally.
Also, regarding the groups that are subbing this. Has anyone with any language skills watched the UTW subs and can comment on their quality? They read pretty easy from the half of one episode that I watched, and I didn't think they did a bad job with Summer Wars even if they're a fairly new group.
