Your favorite art style.
pds1337:
One of my favorites would be xxxHolic and Black Lagoon, the details and art are simply awesome.
Aneroph:
I'm with you that Macross Frontier has some of the most beautiful backgrounds from all the anime I have seen. I also liked Shangri-la and Basquash which are both very similar. Shangri-la had a background scene in the end with a bunch of tiny stained glass windows that was bloody incredible:

I HATE the 'One Piece' style of artwork, and as far as non-animated artwork I hate Americanized anime. It looks enough like anime that they get to put it in the same category, but it's off just enough to bug the hell out of me.
shabutie:
I'll add Last Exile to my list...
I love the "old time" style
AntiPaladin:
I really can't stand any of the "cutesy" styles and traditions (oversized eyes, changing faces, huge expressions, etc.) For instance, I like the action sequences in Tenchi, but the rest of it gets old really quick.
I much prefer things more realistic but still stylized, like Hellsing, Berserk, Vampire Hunter D. Yoshitaka Amano is one of my all-time favorite artists in every respect, and I love most anything by Hayao Miyazaki.
I'll second Frontier as being awesome, as well as Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles. I'm excited to see what the new blending of hand-drawn and CGI will continue to produce, though what I'm most excited for is actually the game engine behind Borderlands. It basically bridges the gap between hand-drawn/cell-shading and motion. for those who haven't seen it yet:

Those are all screenshots. Now imagine somebody swapping in an Anime style and using the game engine to make their own Anime for dirt cheap.
Hiiragi:
mmm... i liked Loveless a lot, both the manga art and the anime..but I suppose I could just say I like Kouga Yun.
I'm also very fond of Yuki Kaori and wish more of her stuff was animated, but Angel Sanctuary was pretty cool.
I really liked the art in Ai no Kusabi, the Utena movie, Vampire Knight, Paradise Kiss, Pandora Hearts, Shounen Onmyouji and Samurai Champloo. In general, I like a variety of art styles and am usually pleased as long as the style fits the show/manga really well.
