How do I increase my maximum download rate?

But just the thought of him trying to convince his dad to spend more money so he can download anime faster makes me smile.

Check with "our dad" regarding ISP plan to see if you're getting what your paying for. ;)

So it's possible with 8Mbit download. On the other hand I -just- have 1Mbit upload ^^

I think it works fine though :p
But ask your dad what your connection is :)
