Things to do in Europe.
« on: January 07, 2010, 12:33:10 AM »
Italy, to be precise. I'm shipping over there next week and I'm wondering if anyone knows things I absolutely HAVE to do while there. Also, any Cons outside the big ones (Comic Con Italia, Lucca, etc.) that I should know of.

Italy is a fantastic place because you can focus on spending time in one little area and just enjoy the townstead or move around and see the big picture and all the famous structure/art.

Run around the fountain in Gubbio.

Eat at Il Latini in florence. Time it so you see the four quarters game.

Climb the beach-side cliffs of agropoli and jump into the sea.
clandestine inanity, that's called spinsanity.

Other than visit Florence, Rome, and Venice, you should see one of the "towns on a hill".

Leave immediately :D

No, if it wasn't winter now I'd have suggested a short trip to the Toscany (San Gi-something, sorry forgot how to spell it) or a trip to one of the volcanoes in the south

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Yeah, there are some lovely little towns in the hills, which are really beautiful, go for a walk, get some lovely food...

Eating is a big thing, other than that, Rome, Florence, Pompeii is worth a look I'd say... Experience some beaches, there are also some interesting Greek ruins around the place...

It's winter. So go to the italian alps for some skiing... other than that it's just the wrong season for going to toscany or the beach... I'd just recommend to eat some italian cuisine and pack warm clothing. We have a record low in temperature this winter.

Don't forget the jump into the frozen lake. I recommend Kemijärvi to do that. It is quite cold, even in summertime.

atm it's colder here in southern scandinavia (down to -41°C) than in Lapland (Tromsø and north of that have mild -8 to 0°C)... damn... it even hurts breathing when you go outside for a while -_-"

-23º C here about 120 km from Lappland and my heater in this room is broken. Sucks.

Anyway. Where in Italy?
There is a huge difference between the north and the south.

You should watch some proper football live while you are there.
