I think it's more along the lines of, "Who created the internet as it is today." The military may have created the basis of internet, but it was the modernization of the internet via things like facebook, youtube, myspace, 4chan and all that garbage that has made internet the "lifeline" it currently is today.
This is your home now. So take advantage of everything here, except me.

from what i rember the Internet was made for use for American Military for fast transfer of data through Satlitte transmission [like 200Bps or less XD]   then in the 70's it was bring up to the general public for a try and it was a smashing hit and a good example for why the internet was made.

and im pretty sure the millitary consitst of the people. who WILL fight in frace, and on the fnets.

we shall defend our internets

Well to be technical, or a realist, 'the people' created the internet the same way 'the people' created automobiles or television. They didn't 'invent' or 'create' it, it evolved to suit them.

Well, 'the internet' is more of a culture now, than the method of communicating. It's kind of like saying that we didn't invent our society, however we still ARE our society. The actual method of communicating isn't what 'the internet' is any more... Simply a portal to the people. Without the people, the internet is nothing.

As with most pseudo-philosophical conversations, it all boils down to definitions.

The Internet was created by the US Military and several major US Universities. This includes TCP/IP and, I think, FTP.

The World Wide Web was, iirc, developed by some guy at CERN and includes

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.

My memory is getting bit rusty but afair it goes a bit like this:

ARPANET (the predecessor of the internet and the womb of technologies like TCP/IP) was made to have a network which would let computer be capable to have better communication between each other as opposed to the circuit switching technology used until then. Speed was not the aim, reliability (aka reduction of packet loss) and the ability to have several computers over the country access a main computer whithout having a dedicated line to each computer. This project was done by several parties and was also funded by the American Military (but not solely) and gave birth to packet switching.
In the early 80's ARPANET military side was broken off from the network and then with the joining of other networks such as X25, UUCP and NPL (made possible by the TCP/IP protocol) was further developped into what we know now as the internet. Most of the 80's the use of the network was largely by academics and limited number of businesss and it is only in the early 90's with the advent of the World Wide Web that the internet came really availably to the general public

Almost all great inventions were made for military use and now is used by everyday regular people

whats the difference who made it and for what reasons if you can use it now?

The Internet story (with capital "I") is turning into a bit of a comedy.

The original intent of the ARPA project was to create a communication network that would be so robust that it would withstand a nuclear war.
It was probably pretty successful, but I hope it's not put to the test.

Now that the project has grown into this huge anarchical communication network, governments are trying to control what information can be sent to where.  And by golly, it's a tough job... and there's significant political resistance.

And then there are these merchant folk who set things up so they could profiteer by selling music and videos on cheap, crappy, technology-locked media, and they want to keep doing that while the music and video is suddenly available without the media, over this extremely robust communication network.

Depending on what faction you are talking to, it's kinda like a Frankenstein story, or maybe something about Aladin's lamp, or Brave New World, or 1984, or a water empire story.

True.  It was Al Gore who invented it.   Ted Stevens revealed that it was made out of a series of tubes.  ;)

I thought Al Gore was the inventor of the environment and the first Emperor of the Moon.
It took an hour to write; I figured it'd take an hour to read.

Whatever happened to their plans to buy and create their own country? If my memory serves me right, they were going to buy an island that used to be a British naval platform.

After a google search I found out my memory served me pretty well.
