« on: January 12, 2010, 07:11:44 AM »
I was wondering if anyone could upload the Nodame Cantabile english dub released by animax?

Animax only has broadcast licenses for Nodame Cantabile; I don't think this was ever dubbed/subbed for DVD release by any non-Japanese company. Going by info on the ANN page, it seems no one has picked up distribution licenses for DVD release (in English-speaking regions). I suppose Animax's international broadcast license probably makes this a tricky issue.

yeah they have and it's one of the few rare cases where the dub is better than the original.

yeah, I had realised that they hadn't released it on dvd, but I thought someone that might have recorded it.

I don't even know how to answer that. I do not think for a nanosecond that the english voice for Nodame could even come CLOSE to the original. I'm going to dissagree with you on the most personal level posible

There's no need for another discussion on the quality or appropriateness of English dubs.  Let's keep this thread on the topic of obtaining what the OP requested.

First of all i was referring to chiaki's voice matching his character far better then the japanese dub does (in my own personal opinion) and secondly the voices shouldn't have to come close to the originals they should only have to match the image of the character, just look at series like DBZ where Goku the main "MALE" character sounds like a little girl in the original japanese version, but in the eng dub he actually sounds like he has some cojones .

Good luck finding anyone with those DVDs.

OOP = Out of Print

R3 = Region 3

and Taiwan singles means just how it sounds.

I have the K-On Animax dub, but I haven't been able to find the Nodame Cantabile one yet.

EDIT: http://www.crackle.com/c/Animax Crackle is hosting the dub for streaming, if you're interested. I think I may have found the files, and if I do, I'll offer them. I think I am also going to offer the K-On dub as well, in place of the dual audio slot, since a dual audio release doesn't exist.
