I seriously can't handle one.Seems to slow,plus I hate that touchy thing.I also hate the monitor.In fact,I hate laptops.
And it's not just Sony that does that.No major company does too much for their clients.
Also,that's the tech market.Pay big sums,be the boss for...1month,then a new model,and you feel the jealousy&rage inside,+shame.

True... the only "win" factor is the portability. Which seems to be a big +

Well, its why im considering getting a laptop with better upgrade options. preferably a quad core w/ dual hdd slots. good cpu/gpu. not a GMA :/ heck -mikan hates GMA gpu's-  Nvidia win win! (for me atleast xD)

I know i saw a VAIO at bestbuy yesterday for $700 had lesser specs then a comparable $579 ASUS, Asus as every1 know's has fail support but if u know ur stuff, its not a big concern..

NaRu:
get the new Alienware netbook that can play Crysis

Yes, Asus seems to be CHEAP like hell with high specs on most. However, I've picked one up before and the build qual "feels" iffy. Not to mention those things heat up like a BBQ with children dancing around it.

I actually bought my brother a mid grade Asus for christmas. and it doesnt heat up one bit even on a comforter. i guess its the model. (2.2ghz/ decent GMA for 479) as for mine. i think it averages up to the center of an atomic bomb explosion for my hp tho.
vaio, runs somewhat warm... not too bad.

Sorry, I meant the lower grade ones. I noticed the mistake only when you pointed it out. Sorry.

But yeah, lower grade Asus seems like crap. Of course, the netbooks seems more well built, but somehow the notebooks in the lower range seem flimsy and floppy. MSi is one I'd recommend instead of Asus if you want the "budget" area.

Also the use of a GMA vid card will probably lower your heat quite a bit. Same as a lower speed HDD. However the biggest one is the design of the case. Which either allows airflow or not. Also the processor type can also be another pointer as to whether or not your computer will run hot. A lower grade T series and even the higher grade T series will run hot. (Though afaik, higher grade idles at a higher temp, but doesn't go as high temp on load?) The P series and SU series are generally cooler than the T series. AMD procs are warm too, but generally are also around the temperature of about the T series notebooks.
