Havoc10K:
l'm gonna watch it on sunday at work l guess. If it wil lDl, 6-12 kbps from E-D torrent batch :P

indifference:
The second season doesn't have the same feel or animation of the first. I would of been really let down, having been so moved by the first season, if I hadn't got warning from other people. It was a cool idea, but it just wasn't carried out properly. Don't take that as a reason not to watch it though. It's entertaining.

A third season could be awesome too....

As I said elsewhere:

None of us are downing GSG, because it is a fantastic story.  The producers of this show, however, seem to not think so, as they carved the storyline up into pieces and reassembled it as a Frankenstein`s monster.

They changed the personalities of the characters, managed to make emotional scenes cold, and added another character (who is, btw, the flattest character I've ever seen in an anime) for no apparent reason.

*deep breaths*

Ok, I've had my say.  I'll leave you in peace now.

My guess is that S1 was broadcast with a 4:3 image, with letterboxing/decorative bars to frame the actual show. Since the actual animation was drawn/made in 16:9, the DVDs were made in 16:9. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary when watching the DVDs, although it's been about 3-4 years since I've seen the show. I don't know why the BD's would be 4:3. Maybe they're going to be like the broadcasts, maybe there's a mistake in the info, who knows. We'll have to wait till they come out.

--- Quote from: Aneroph ---I really hope for a widescreen version of the BD for this series, but I was let down with 4:3 BD for Eureka Seven so I expect nothing less from another of my favorites.

Why would you want a 16:9 version of Eureka 7? The show was made in 4:3, so unless they went back and re-did the animation (unlikely), any 16:9 version would be cropped or stretched, neither of which is a good option.

anyone know if this is indeed the case? My old fansubs were VERY strange, i guess you could view it as widescreen with an odd decorative boarder just to air in regular 4:3 without cropping.

Still i would rather have it just be 16:9 instead of some screwy looking boarder for a screwy letterbox thing. I guess i'll have to wait for the BD's and see what they are. If it says 4:3 then maybe they just do the boarder thing?

It sounds like the DVDs at least are definatly 16:9 with no letterbox tricks. When the BD comes out i'll try to see what they did

Anyone know a decent anime BD/DVD review site i can keep an eye out on this for?

as far as the dub argument, i never just totally dismiss a dub. Some are pretty decent. Cowboy bebop is one of the few shows i actually prefer dubbed. The Hunter X Hunter dub would be awesome if it wasn't for Gon's voice. They totally F'd that up, but everyone else ranges from decent to great. Hisoka especially suprised the crap outa me. I figured theyd screw it up because of his strange fruity sounding voice that fluctuates from jovial, psychoic, fruity constantly but they nailed it. They really jacked gon up though he sounds like a 40 year old woman who smokes 4 packs a day

Also the fact that almost no anime is ever 5.1 with the japanese track makes me at least give the 5.1 english track a shot sometimes

vuzedome:
Its 16:9, 5.1ch audio.
