Comcast is auto upgrading all buissness class 22Mbit lines to 50 in fiber optic area's if im correct. least that happened to me at my grandma's down here in miami. was paying $99.95 a month tho... exept! modem crashed for 3 days they got monkeys working here o.< My thoughts is it will be that way for awhile, theyre probally only doing it to make sure the network is stable. if not, TY Comcast for not bieng greedy.

Maybe for there Dx but max here atm is 50. atleast thats what they told us what they are doing .-. then again it IS miami, dont need that fast of a F/O connection down here -not trying to be racist :/ but alot of ppl here arent net savvy... just old cuban geezers-

I mean, I get 3 Phone Lines, HD Cable, and DSL for $60 a month...
While I agree that I should probably upgrade my Internet, I wouldn't update it that far! What do you use all that bandwidth for anyway???

I run 3 quake 3 servers, and Im setting up L4D server and L4D2 server. So I need the bandwidth....also.. why not have the fastest speed.

the weird part is I ask for the 50Mbps down and 10Mbps up package and they said it wasn't ready in my area.

My modem went offline a couple nights ago too.. didn't think to check at the time..



My connection is supposed to be 12/2 I think.

edit: I forgot I was seeding from the other computer... upload is a little faster now.

Its clear comcast Is upgrading user's on their more pricey plans to test newly laid out fiber optics... thats All I can really say.
Just checked mine here, didn't change (its a comcast 6mb im leeching off of) but I did oddly notice the upload is HIGHER then download
-> checked it too, utorrent is maxing my download at 2xxkbps <- and i just uploaded a mp3 at over 500kbps. Too bad xD hey its good news though. soon enough we will have faster interwebz! like europe, etc. Broadband will die :3

ISP been using fiber optics for a long time now. The limit of your speed is the hubs in your area. Think of them as a giant router. They have to handle everyones connection in your area. Then can easily upgrade your connection to 50Mbps down like hitting a switch but if it will slow down the bandwidth for others in your area then its not available.
