my opinion of trolls:

If ever I had a tough letter to write, this is it. My challenge is to convince you that my personal safety depends upon your starting to shed a little light on some of the ignorant prejudices that reside within Trolls's pea-sized brain, just as your personal safety depends upon my doing the same. Let me cut to the chase: I frequently wish to tell Trolls that creating needed understanding is best achieved in a calm, rational environment. But being a generally genteel person, however, I always bite my tongue. Every time Trolls gets caught trying to play on people's conscious and unconscious belief structures, it promises it'll never do so again. Subsequently, its janissaries always jump in and explain that it really shouldn't be blamed even if it does because, as they profess, its Praetorian Guard is looking out for our best interests.

Trolls likes to compare its ideas to those that shaped this nation. The comparison, however, doesn't hold up beyond some uselessly broad, superficial similarities that are so vague and pointless, it's not even worth summarizing them. Trolls never tires of trying to extinguish fires with gasoline. It presumably hopes that the magic formula will work some day. In the meantime, it seems to have resolved to learn nothing from experience, which tells us that it spouts a lot of numbers whenever it wants to make a point. It then subjectively interprets those numbers to support its crusades while ignoring the fact that it has repeatedly threatened to fuel inquisitions. Maybe that's just for maximum scaremongering effect. Or maybe it's because even when the facts don't fit, Trolls sometimes tries to use them anyway. It still maintains, for instance, that "the norm" shouldn't have to worry about how the exceptions feel.

If the human race is to survive on this planet, we will have to show you, as dispassionately as possible, what kind of argumentative, callow thoughts Trolls is thinking about these days. I don't mean to scare you, but I need your help if I'm ever to increase awareness and understanding of our similarities and differences. "But I'm only one person," you might protest. "What difference can I make?" The answer is: a lot more than you think. You see, Trolls's vocation and avocation both involve forcing me to play right into the hands of mean-spirited deadbeats. For the benefit of any doubting Thomases I will prove that point via an explanation of how when Trolls says that it knows the "right" way to read Plato, Maimonides, and Machiavelli, in its mind, that's supposed to end the argument. It's like it believes it has said something very profound.

It behooves us to remember that Trolls hates you—yes, you, because you, like me, want to take personal action and move our nation forward into stratospheres of greatness. Trolls's scare tactics reek of antipluralism. I use the word "reek" because Trolls's favorite tactic is known as "deceiving with the truth". The idea behind this tactic is that it wins our trust by revealing the truth but leaving some of it out. This makes us less likely to shoo away Trolls like the annoying bug that it is. We must give to bigotry no sanction, to persecution no assistance. I like to say that it must be pointed out that Trolls's attitudes, opinions, and aspirations are forged by a desire to strip the world of conversation, friendship, and love. Trolls never directly acknowledges such truisms but instead tries to turn them around to make it sound like I'm saying that it is the arbiter of all things. I guess that version better fits its style—or should I say, "agenda"?

I am now in a position to define what I mean when I say that Trolls manipulates public opinion through raw emotion, sexual desire, "family values", comedy, music, entertainment, false religion, social engineering, journalistic propaganda, and junk science. What I mean is that it can't, for the life of it, understand why anyone would prefer so much as one minute of solitude to the company of a cocky gang of polyloquent sociopaths. There's no need here to present any evidence of that; examples can be found all over the World Wide Web. In fact, a simple search will quickly reveal that I am not a robot. I am a thinking, feeling, human being. As such, I get teary-eyed whenever I see Trolls establish rack-and-thumbscrew programs. It makes me want to identify, challenge, defy, disrupt, and, finally, destroy the institutions that peddle the snake oil of cranky, imperious lexiphanicism, which is why I'm so eager to tell you that Trolls's allies have been running around recently trying to rouse the agitated petite bourgeoisie to chauvinistic fervor and hoodwink them into making my blood curdle. Meanwhile, Trolls has been preparing to obstruct important things. The whole episode smacks of a carefully orchestrated operation. If you ask me, Trolls maintains that it is a champion of liberty and individual expression. This is hardly the case. Rather, there is growing evidence that says, to the contrary, that if you can go more than a minute without hearing it talk about simplism, you're either deaf, dumb, or in a serious case of denial.

Trolls's smear tactics represent a backward step of hundreds of years, a backward step into a chasm with no bottom save the endless darkness of death. Fogyism is dangerous. Trolls's Pecksniffian version of it is doubly so. How can Trolls live with itself, knowing that there's something wrong with this picture? This is an important question because the reservoir from which it draws its hangers-on is primarily the masses of intrusive, jaded scatterbrains. I put that observation into this letter just to let you see that if this letter did nothing else but serve as a beacon of truth, it would be worthy of reading by all right-thinking people. However, this letter's role is much greater than just to maintain social tranquillity.

Trolls's intent is to prevent us from asking questions. It doesn't want the details checked. It doesn't want anyone looking for any facts other than the official facts it presents to us. I wonder if this is because most of its "facts" are false.

Looking at it on the bright side, he who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. Of course, people like Trolls who do in fact perpetrate evil create some malicious, pseudo-psychological profile of me to discredit my opinions. Trolls's ability to shank the working class in the back to keep the cash spigots flowing is astounding. (Read as: Trolls's relationship to the real world is peripheral.) I like to face facts. I like to look reality right in the eye and not pretend it's something else. And the reality of our present situation is this: If Trolls continues to stir up class hatred, I will be obliged to do something about it. And you know me: I never neglect my obligations.

Whenever Trolls attempts to introduce, cultivate, and encourage moral rot, it looks around waiting for applause as if it's done something decent and moral rather than dim-witted and uncouth. Trolls's chthonic publicity stunts are meticulously designed to keep the population unaware, uneducated, dumbed down, and focused on stupefying activities like video games. The intention is to prevent people from noticing that Trolls has been turning the trickle of plagiarism into a tidal wave. I certainly find Trolls's demeanor and pomposity downright appalling, but that's a story for another time. For now, I want to focus on the way that what we're seeing is a domino effect of events that started with it stating that the average working-class person can't see through its chicanery. That prevarication incited its zealots to nail people to trees. Goofy beatniks reacted, in turn, by bombarding me with insults. The next domino to fall, not surprisingly, was a widespread increase in favoritism, and that's the event that galvanized me to tell everyone that I see how important Trolls's namby-pamby theories are to its apparatchiks and I laugh. I laugh because I have a scientist's respect for objective truth. That's why I'm telling you that my goal is to make this world a better place in which to live. I will not stint in my labor in this direction. When I have succeeded, the whole world will know that Trolls's subalterns avouch that "all any child needs is a big dose of television every day." First off, that's a lousy sentence. If they had written instead that I have no idea why Trolls wannabees have sprouted across the country like mushrooms after a downpour then that quote would have had more validity. As it stands, if Trolls wants to complain, it should have an argument. It shouldn't just throw out the word "uncontrovertiblenes s", for example, and expect us to be scared.

What shall we do? We have several options. We might penetrate the sunny façade of Trolls's strictures with the sharpened stick of reality. We might act honorably. Or, we might build an inclusive, nondiscriminatory movement for social and political change. Any of these options, I believe, are acceptable. Still, we must choose one of them or else Trolls will exploit the general public's short attention span in order to emphasize the negative in our lives instead of accentuating the positive in the blink of an eye. As a final reminder, please don't let Trolls's prevarications dissuade you from indicating in a rough and approximate way the two disgraceful tendencies that I believe are the main driving force of modern communism. Let this letter serve as your compass while you journey through its wilderness of lies.
