Is it possible to cut out sections of an mkv?
« on: January 19, 2010, 10:31:09 PM »
I'm wondering if there is any way to cut out specific sections of the video and audio feed, like the OP or ED or whatever else. I know you could always just convert the file to an avi and import it to <insert video editor here> but it would be much easier to just cut it right out of the mkv with no conversion needed.

you can use mkvmerge to split the file and link the parts you want to keep back together afterwards.

Be aware of the limitations posed by keyframes, however.
