Partition recovery
TempestWing:
My knowledge of these issues is limited, but anyways.
First thing I would do is check to see if the drive is in good working order (jumper settings, etc.)
See if Linux can mount the partitions. If yes, then copy your files over to a different drive and repair/reformat your drives. If you can't mount the partitions, then my guess would be that the partition tables on those drives have become corrupt. (Or something like that)
Just try to isolate the problem. There could be lots of things wrong with your drives, so it might not be a great idea to blindly stab around for answers.

Thanks for all the replies guys.
I've resorted to using TestDisk, the most simple data recovery program I've seen yet.
It doesn't seem to be able to fix the partition but at least I can copy the files really easily.

Did you try mount them on linux ? using live distro?
Tatsujin:
I had a similar issue long, long ago. I just transferred the files to other partitions and reformatted the damaged ones.
