Watched the subbed version now and I still stand by my earlier comments: I don't get why they toned down Rock... It's not only the scene where Garcia makes his request but also the additional scene of Rock & Revy at the start where he is depressed. I don't see how they are going to go from here to
the point where Rock goes almost villain... How are they going to play that out if they still portray him as the ultimate softy (ok, he IS still soft, but something broke and it isn't reflected as being even softer than before in the manga but actually the opposite...)
They better not change the "Gun & Bullet" scene in the next episode because of this... I would curse the directors like hell as that scene is on par with the cigarette kiss scene in "Calm Down Two Men"
Oh and I must say they again did a great job at portraying Revy! I bloody loved her expressions, especially in the Yellow Flag when Fabiola enters ... that wicked smile is serious gold in my book heh
Btw: anyone knows what sort of differences there will be between the TV edit and the OVA? Will there be additional content?
this has me very worried. Rocks evlolution through the series is a major draw for me. Watching his intereaction with the type of people around him and how it changes him and his world views (as well as how he impacts Revy) is probably just about my favorite thing about Black Lagoon. If this gets toned down or loss that would be unforgivable. I think your talking about the 'gun and bullet' dialog between them while shes working out and then showing right? If so, your right. very important. It's Definitely on par with the calm down 2 men cigarette scene. Plus in this one you get to see Revy naked, which makes it way better in my book ;P
seriously though. If that scene is gone or edited this whole OVA will be shit in my book.

any groups done that yet? Or is everything out there just the initial edited TV airing? To answer your question im not sure of the content cut but i know there definatly was edits. Actually there were 2 cut versions. a 'short' and 'long' one. But both were edited. My guess is if its just the TV airing we wont get the shower scene regardless =(
Actually i need to go back and read the manga again. I didn't get very far in it. The problem is all the online manga reader sites are gone =( mangatokoshan had a great collection of it but that sites dead now, and mangafox is still up and kicking for a while but took it down. I dont know where to snag the damn thing now. Are there any good places to just directly download the thing? I wouldn't mind a hard copy and i really gotta just start all over
To those that have kept up with the manga.. do we ever get any backround on her past? I hated how in the anime it kept being touched on but you never really found out what the deal was and why she was so hard. The closest thing we get is a scene with her standing over a bloody corpse for like 1/2 a second. I think theres porno mags on the ground or something, maybe she was forced into some child prostitution or something, i dont know. I just really hope we get some exposition on this. The dove feather metaphor you get in a lot of these has me linking it to some loss of innocence event
