Firefox 3.6 has been released.

I dunno... FF still feels like the most "solid" internet experience. Chrome is pretty awesome, but it's still sort of wobbly at times.
Not sure why even though Chrome is supposed to be higher in compatibility.

I mean back in the day, macs were the only computers that could handle large scale video production. These days almost any video production you can do in a mac you can do in a PC, especially with Adobe Premiere. Although I do have to admit that Final Cut Pro will 9 times out of 10 be the superior video editing software of it's kind.

If you're playing with a toy computer sure.
I guarantee if you're on a well designed PC - it'll crush mac. Crap - if you factor out the design costs and get one in a ratty looking boxy beige case - you can get twice the computer in a PC than you ever could with a Mac. ( Though you couldn't comfortably shove the PC up your ass ... the Mac though with all its sexy curves, some KY and that thing will give you hours of fun. [ fyi - I just said Mac design is superior, very good looking. PCs are a hodgepodge all over the place who knows what you're getting. ] )
*cough*
Anyways - 2.x treated me good. 3.0 was ok ... but every so often I'd find it hogging memory like nuts - not cool. 3.5 disgusted me. So far ... from a little use, 3.6 seems better than 3.5 - but I need more time to really decide.

i think what he is referring to is the PPC chips ran the old adobe software, and a few other industry specific titles MUCH faster then the intel/amd counterparts did. Which is why its popularity among graphic designers and the likes.
Currently it is equal or worse then a good windows pc since the highest end of a windows pc is much nicer

Really? I found the entire 2.x branch to be slow as fuck, and was much happier with 3.x (and 3.5 especially).
Nothing like the days of Firefox 0.9, though.

It's not particularly that 3.5 is slower in general, it's just slower at what I need it to do. I don't know if it's just me, but try opening 100+ unique tabs. Then, tell it to bookmark them all. Now watch it sit there for about a minute or more.
It's stuff like that, mainly. It just seems like they didn't do tabs very well. Firefox 2.X didn't sacrifice the amount of CPU/RAM that each tab takes up in order to make the whole program in general run faster. This was extremely convenient for having a lot of tabs open.
Oh, and another thing.
The bookmarks toolbar is really annoying. Usually, I go around reading manga on onemanga.com and then I bookmark the latest chapter in the drop down box arrow thing on the right side (in other words, at the top of the drop down list). Usually, this means just dragging the link over to the right of the bookmarks toolbar.
Well, you can't do that in 3.5. Apparently, there's this funny little thing they implemented where there's an invisible divider that determines whether the link you just dropped down on the toolbar will go to the VERY BOTTOM of the dropdown list instead of the very top. This is annoying as fuck. Imagine having like 300+ links in your toolbar and for some reason the links you're trying to put at the top of the list just magically end up at the bottom. Naturally it's annoying. I didn't have this problem in 2.X. So now, I have to pay attention to where I'm dropping every single link. You have to drop it nearly right on top of the last visible item in your bookmarks toolbar. Why some dumbass made it work that way, I don't know.
In case someone wants to ask, yes, I do regularly surf with over 100 tabs open. I have set Tab Mix Plus to be extremely tab-heavy.

[Edit] NVM, Found this on their wiki http://wiki.mozilla-x86-64.com/Firefox:Download#Firefox_3.6

Unfortunately, there's no full version there. Only RC2 is available.

Why a 64 bit version? The 32 bit one works just fine on 64 bit systems (at least it works fine on my W7 install...).

Do you know of a browser that doesn't lag when you try to bookmark 100+ tabs? Because I don't.

Open your bookmarks, press the home key to navigate to the beginning of the list, and the end key to go to the bottom. TIL.
