Mass Effect 2

JoonasTo:
(click to show/hide)Whether it was human council or the alien council, I'd still have let them die. Endangering the survival of all current civilisations worth trying to save one council? Hell no!

Concerning dealings, yes, council did take notes. It was in the first game.
Second, Udina knows, Admiral knows, Alliance knows, everyone who was on the citadel military at the time of the attack knows.

Ascension was the most powerful ship in council space and the citadel fleets were the majority of Asari and Turian power. Them and alliance fleet combined couldn't even make a shiver on Sovereign's shield, it was only due to the malfunction that they could bring it down.

It was clearly stated in the end of ME1 that the alliance possessed the most powerful fleet after the council wipeout.

The point is that Turians are abolishing old deals with the Asari that limited them from building more dreadnaughts. It doesn't matter if they're building it out of hate jealousy or just for the luls. It's the fact that the fleet is there when needed that counts.
(click to show/hide)1100 programs, so? There are countless of Geth programs, 1100 is like comparing one fly to all the flies on earth. Doesn't matter for shit.

Renegades were a minority and they managed to wield a fleet powerful enough to take on the citadel fleet, granted with sovereign and surprise but imagine what the real geth fleet looks like.
(click to show/hide)How are the greatest human technological advancements done in history? As an accident or by someone developing a new use for something that someone else made ages ago for a completely different purpose.

If you can harness even one percent of the technologies on the reaper base it could solve countless numbers of scientific dilemmas. Sure, it will be after the reaper technology or it will be because of it. But in the end, I don't care if the weapon in my hands is developed by breakthroughs because of finding the reaper base or by accident in somewhere else. I care if it puts a glorious fucking hole through the reaper fleet or not. The current technolgy didn't, it's obvious we need more.

Besides, it's not like cerberus doing reaper research would stop all other independent research around the universe. :P

That's why it was so interesting.
Like cerberus for what they are, how they work and why they work.
But hate them for getting a short stick on draw.

Tiffanys:
Well, about the Cerberus decision at the end...

(click to show/hide)I don't think it'll make a huge different in ME3 just because of the limitations of the game platform. The company won't spend that much money just for one little decision. It'll probably be a couple lines of dialog or something, maybe a weapon or cinematic or ship upgrades or something. I dunno.
But, about the Council...

(click to show/hide)You have to remember, as a Specter, you are "the right hand of the Council." The first human Specter would just be spitting on that if you let the Council die. And besides, retaining Specter status and being above the law is a pretty good idea.

Right now they won't do anything, but once you leave Cerberus and it's obvious the Reapers are real, they may be more willing to help. They may act like they do, but... they're making decisions for every civilization in the galaxy.

Takeshi:
It seems we're getting a DLC called The Arrival.

In case you guys haven't seen it yet. It's supposed to show the events from the end of ME2 to ME3. Shit's gonna be good if so. Certainly gonna get this. Just installed ME2 again to play Shadow Broker, hopefully it'll be out pretty soon. Also, could be the last DLC for ME2.

Havoc10K:
for gods sakes, they could release a compatibility patch along the way at least, damn me if I save a game and then leave the game and return later to find "AREA UNKNOWN" again \\_/

It has been announced a while ago that it is going to be the last DLC. They said that during their announcement that they'd disable the Cerberus Network News. They'd disable the News and reactivate it a week before the last DLC and before ME3. That was at the end of Jan, I think.
