While waiting for it I've managed to watch a few series of anime through. :P

Just hoping that they have enough graphic customisation to make it work on my PC...

Because we can!

I can't remember if I backed up my save files or not..  Meh.. have to search the depths of my half a dozen hard drives now  >:(

Are they absolutely vital to the overall experience, or will you get to see/do most of the same stuff on a new game?

The saves aren't needed. You have entirely new skill sets so that doesn't carry over. What carries over is like 15 choices you made (where 7 or so can be chosen if you have no save) and gender. At least that is what I read prior to release.

Oh, I was going to just buy this on steam and download. Then I noticed my torrent would finish prior to steam allowing me to play...

(This game will unlock in approximately 4 days and 10 hours, torrent 2 days.)

You will start with lvl1 in ME2 but if you have a maxed out ME char you get a bonus in ME2

The most important part of your savegames are the decisions you made in ME. How you dealed with certain NPC: Live or die and so on

(click to show/hide)

And as I said in the post before you, you get a bonus. The higher your level in ME the better the bonus.

And you can see how your character looks like with the improved engine :D

Torrents always make sad pandas become happy pandas.

Here,in Romania, where the minimum salary is 150 euros, they expect us to buy games.I am referring to the big companies,no one here does something, because they all download at least movies,so they would have to be utterly stupid to resolve this problem for some companies to take a better profit.

Finished ME1 in about 12-13 hours. This one,on the same difficulty level,I am only at

,and already have 11h and a half down.Wow,this game is nice.
But that Miranda really is a hot one.She has an ass comparable to CC's.
Also, did any of you find(or know)

I like in ME2 that you meet up with everyone you saved, and still run errands for them. Not big things though.
My only regret in ME1 was that

i'm only through the first two planets but my first impression is that ME2 is worse than ME1 - and to blame are clearly those fucking console players. why does every game created for pc and consoles has to be dumbed down to the shitty level of console games?

- the shrank together equip upgrades suck
- the shrank together equip choices suck
- the shrank together talents suck
- the shrank together squad management sucks
- the new ammo system sucks
- ...

Because console gamers nowadays make up a larger portion of the consumer market. If you ran a business, would you market your product to the larger number of people or the smaller number?

Yeah it sucks, but what can you do?

to those who played.. is there any way to check what key decisions you made or anything before you start playing? I played ME1 more than any game i own. I beat it 7 times with tons of different characters and i honestly dont remember which ones did what =P If theres no way to check i'll have to do a quick playthrough again with the ones i want to transfer >_<

also.. what gives? are your old characters recruitable or not? I heard they just make cameos. I want to Roxxorz with Wrex/garus again god damnit! especially Wrex. I wouldn't mind hooking up with Ashley again either.

its very strange.. i would have thought id be totally stoked about this game but after playing DA origins i kinda lost interest in this game for some reason. I st5alled partway through DA, the bugs and junk were annoying and the combat was very clunky. The 'streamlined' stuff ive read about this game sounds kinda lame to me actually

As far as checking what decisions you made, the only thing I can think of is that you hopefully have a save right before the end and check your journal since it tells you what happened after you made your decision but I'm not 100% sure everything shows up here but some do.

The ME2 save system shows you your level, class, and important decision such as
(click to show/hide)
,the path you chose,Renegade or Paragon.

ME2 doesn't really feel like ME1.Just as blubart said, they toned down ME2 to a level that it's hardly and RPG.ME1 was shooter-RPG,but this one is shooter with a trail of RPG.I think that Bioware could've done a slightly different version for PC,with all the necessary RPG incorporations.

About Rana
(click to show/hide)
.

One thing I loved about ME2 is
(click to show/hide)

Another thing I hate about ME2 is that one button gets you talking, running and covering.M
E2 was clearly made more as a shooter.I see EA's hand on this one, because DA:O didn't need to tone down the RPG part.
The new bullet system is a double edge sword;you do have to reload a lot, bullets fly out very fast, but there's a ton on the ground,so never have to worry about them.
