I played as Vanguard in ME and ME2, I liked being Vanguard in ME2 more also being able to combo Biotic powers is pretty neat. Combat needs work but shit is better than ME, I barely remember using cover unless I played on Insanity in ME.

I wish there was an option to have someone else voice your shepard, the VA for shepard is fucking dull.

What I expected and didn't get but hopefully will see in ME3:

Squad banters and random dialogue while exploring - I missed this so much.

A variety of weapons - and no I do not want the way ME1 did it where you get hundreds of guns that upgrade itself as you found more. I want it the same way in ME where 1 gun has pros and cons but with enough variety that I'm not only choosing from 2 pistols or 4 rifles.

More fucking dialogue - some members only have like 3 stories to tell (minus the ones you can romance who have 5 I believe). I really hate going up to Garrus and having him blow me off to calibrate those god damn guns.

For the love of god what happened to the Citadel, I know it got shit on by Sovereign and the geth but I don't remember the huge citadel only having 1 ward and there's barely anything going on here. The places were basically lifeless and dull, not enough damn meaningful sidequests.

I quite like the female VA, not perfect but good enough. The male VA is a bit worse. :/

That's why I played a chick instead of a dude ^_^

was watching a review and it mentinoed that 2 of your party members can be
(click to show/hide)

Also, i heard you actually have ammo in this game? Plz tell me thats not true. That totally goes against the ME universe from the novels i read. Plus it would be a problem for those who can only use weaker guns and have to plink away wasting tons of ammo

and yes, weapons use "termal clips" (ammo) to dissipate heat. and because those "termal clips" can only take a limited amount of heat they have to be changed (reloaded) regularly. luckily dead enemies drop "termal clips".
- i wonder if it took them more time to implement this ammo change or to think about an explanation for its functionality in an cartridgeless weapon-universe.

As far as squaddies go you get

As far as ammo goes:

Hope that helped.

It's from the Codex.

For people who want to play ME2 but didn't have ME1 save files and do not want the default ME2 setting of past events this website has savefiles of different playthroughs of other peoples ME1 Shepards:

Actually the talk about the thermal clips being from Geth tech reminded me; wasn't what we choose happen to the Indian soldier lady's body supposed to have some ramification on ME2? This seems to indicate that it should, but I didn't notice anything.

I think she was mentioned once in citadel news... something about how her husband went back to earth and started a restaurant or something.

Most of those are like that. Minor news stories and/or emails.

Actually you also meet up with most on Illium, like the Asari chicks(the one on the Virmire lab and the one on Feros),that woman from Noveria,Giana Parasini or something along the lines, there is also a side quest to persuade someone to aid those Feros collonists etc.

Is this one as depressingly humorless and lacking in personality as the first?

If you expected this game to have humor then it's certainly not the game that has problems....

The note from Bring Down the Sky was funny enough. It was a reference to that lady who started ranting about ME1,because it almost contained an alien sex scene. And that's why we haven't heard from space anything.

Shepard's voice and dialogs are clichéd to extreme, screaming of average."That doesn't sound right","I bet you didn't tell them","Tell me more about yourself" and "I don't give a rat's ass".Seriously,CN's cartoons have more interesting dialogs.

lol yeah, that stupid girl complaining about the apparent 'full digital nudity' in ME1 was hilarious.

So, where's ME3 :D I just finished ME2 on Insanity. I love it! Though there was a period of getting accustomed to all those changes. I don't think that the changes you all mentionend (some text blocks were tl;dr^^) are only horrible at the beginning. In the end I wasn't aware of them any more.

Why do you think that Biotics have become useless in ME2? Without them I would've have run out of ammo very soon.

Regarding the squad members: Using the same members all the time wouldn't work here. At least for me. It ended up way too difficult.
Example:

I can't wait for ME3.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Well,you revived this thread,so I'll play ball.

Some changes were good, like not playing the missions in the same area, that was really confusing and irritating.I loved what they did with the characters.Brillian t.I do regret not having the possibility to bring most of them back, but it's kinda natural.Shepard died, they moved along with their lives.I didn't like the Liara thing.I mean,Prothean expert->galaxy-saving soldier->Information Broker.WTF?
I also that they should have made a system similar to DA,concerning the characters like or dislike. They should be angry or happy with your decisions, shouldn't they?

Biotics are useless because most of them were stripped out and because there's a lot of ammo anytime and weapon classes have been cut out,so...

Well that thing is true,at least for the last mission.I underestimated Mordin and sent him with the crew that I saved there. At least he kept them safe.

I'm really confused with everyone saying Biotics are worthless....

I played through the game using nothing but biotics... I was an adept and my team consisted of Miranda and Jack/Samara.  Maybe I was doing something wrong...

Triple Warp was nearly an insta-kill on guys with armor...  Throw was an instakill on husks (and also had about a second cooldown).  and against regular guys I just chained warps and shot them with my pistol.

Granted I wasn't playing on insanity, but it was a pretty sound strategy.

You haven't played on Insanity, have you? Well, I can't compare the enemies on Insanity with like Normal because I didn't start with Normal but it took a fair amount of damage to even take down cannon fodder using weapons. I was glad about Warp, Reave, Pull, Throw.

There was one curiosity: The final fight was a lot easier than some skirmishes in-between ;D

Yeah... I was only playing on normal (I'm not that good at shooters of any sort), but the last fight was pretty "meh."

Of course, I got the last boss down to about half health and then remembered I was totting about the Cain heavy weapon with 175% charge (never really used the heavy weapons). One shot knocked out its remaining health.

The linear nature of your Euclidean geometry both confounds and befuddles me.
