Mass Effect 2

Then I started up Mass Effect 1 and it felt worse than the second game. Everything about it just feels a bit worse than Mass Effect 2. I wanna play the first game, but everything just feels so wrong about it.
I didn't particular like the story in Mass Effect 2. Basically, you go around for the first 10 hours recruiting people. Okay, fine. But that's basically what you spent most of the game around. Imo, there wasn't enough Collector's confrontations. I think I meet them around 3-4 times during the game. And I also felt like it needed a center villain. As I recall, Saren was that villian in Mass Effect. I played the first game until the game introduced him.
I'm not really a strategist so I hardly ordered my men to do anything but come back to me when I needed help. :P
What I find most appealing to this game is of course the characters themselves, and especially the voice acting because that was brilliant.
Relationships were also very interesting to follow. Personally, I went for Miranda since she's the obvious choice. At one point it almost overshadowed the game itself. I think I went to talk to her about 10 times during a game session to see if "things had quiet down". :P
Right now I am searching planets fro their resources so I can upgrade my stuff while taking various missions. Not a lot to do else, right?
Also, a question? There's this choice when you finish the game. I choose to continue my save since I hadn't searched the entire galaxy. Can I re-do that choice at some point and start a new game with all my accumulated stuff?

Just start a new game and options will come up to either load a char from me1, me2, or a new character.

I played ME2 and I was unimpressed because your most of the previous squad members from ME1 is gone and they have removed the overheating on the weapon and replaced it with fricking ammo clip plus they removed the Mako.

Removing the mako was a good thing. Sadly they replaced it with something as bad.
I agree I liked overheating more than ammo.
As for replacing the people, sure that isn't nice, but the characters in ME 2 more than make up for the lacking ones from ME 1.

I'm glad they removed the Mako or rather the really dull missions with the Mako. I was only at first disappointed that you can't have all your old mates in your new team but after the new members are as good and who knows what will happen in ME3 with the old mates. I hope for them to be back in your team then, strengthening your team from ME2, though that would be kinda tricky as they have the same abilities and are therefore interchangeable. I wouldn't mind their being on the ship even then ;D even if they are just extras with no real purpose :P
Rumors are again coming up that BioWare is revealing the official work on ME3 during the Spike VGA.

gotta admit, I was kind of disappointed by removing Mako, after all, exploration was more fun this way, firewalker is a piece of crap though, i did miss the exploration of the planets, but then again, we did have a nice set of missions in ME2 where we were landing on the surface as well, gathering minerals was kind of boring, though it was nice too, more stuff gathered in pretty much the same time as in a mission, I suppose our archeologist won't show up, after all, she has a much more interesting job now, and can spy on shepard whenever she wants to :)
I missed Ashley at the start of the game in ME2, Ashley was a great help, hell nearly all characters that used assault riffle were great help in ME2, but in ME1 Ashley was just that good, when I started playing the game at first, the thermo clips seemed odd to me, but then, soon I learned to aim better and count every shot, currently on hard mode I am pretty much always full on thermo clips.
Funny thing though, Bioware fell in their own trap in ME2 with Thermo Clips, at the start of the game they refer to Thermo clips not as ammo, but means to cool your weapon, soon afterwards, they "change" their minds and start referring to clips as ammo, I still laugh about it :)
