That depends, some of them are rare. For example if one of them is "The Black Beast of Arrgh" pet, then you can get over 70K + some Ecto (yes Ectoplasm is used as currency too, or used to, not sure if it is still popular after it's prise dropped)
For one thing, Tiff is not on any level what I would call a typical American.  She's not what I would consider a typical person.  I don't know any other genius geneticist anime-fan martial artist marksman model-level beauties, do you?

I've played it on and off starting back around the release date.  Started it back up a little while ago to try out some new characters and finish up the titles I really wanted before the sequel comes out (have quite a bit of time still I think).  Been really looking forward to the sequel, and I'm getting pretty exited to see the information starting to ramp up.

I've been on and off myself, just got back into it again as im trying to beat eye of the north expansion still  ;D

I missed the GW boat and didnt pick it up till about 3 years ago but never seemed to have the time to put into it

Always liked the fact that whenever i start playing it again the graphics and gameplay never seem dated, and the storyline is pretty damn good

My highest character is at 597 hours over 62 months while my account is at 2583 over 63 months.  (Second highest is 512 over 53)

Is GW2 continuing any story of GW1? Is it advisable to know GW1? I never played GW1 but having read about GW2 and its planned game mechanics made me curious and think about playing it when it's released.

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Is this the MMO that you have to load whenever you enter a new zone?

It's set either 100, 200 or 300 years in the future and you play as the decentant of the character you played (should have played) in GW1.
Therefore by playing GW1 and unlocking achievements for the Hall of Monuments in EOTN expansion, you get an advantage (items and experience) over newcomers in GW2.

Is what I was lead to believe.

it's not, i've seen some crazy cats (playable) and some new magic which totaly doesn't add up AND characters look totaly different
Not to mention that gw2 will have cities in the skyes and different magic...

It looks like the charr have guns in the Guild Wars 2 trailer. Will there be firearms in Guild Wars 2?

Since Guild Wars 2 takes place 250 years in the future from Guild Wars, we wanted to introduce new technology to Tyria. From the mystical tech of the asura to the industrial war machines of the charr, Guild Wars 2 unmistakably takes place in a different era than the original game, and the weaponry and machinery reflect that. Firearms will definitely be part of the equation — but with a unique twist.

When will we find out the specific benefits that the Hall of Monuments provides to Guild Wars 2 characters?

We will reveal exactly how the Hall of Monuments works when we're closer to the launch of the game.

Can I play my original Guild Wars character in Guild Wars 2?

Guild Wars 2 is a whole new game with different professions and races, new technology, and expanded gameplay. It is not possible to directly use an original Guild Wars character.

However, your original Guild Wars character names will be reserved for your use in Guild Wars 2. The Hall of Monuments in Guild Wars 2 recognizes the accomplishments commemorated by your original Guild Wars characters and provides you with unique rewards to showcase those achievements.

Not right regarding everything, it never states that people from gw2 will have a advantage at all, I wouldn't be suprised if it would be some kind om mini-pet or similiar cosmetic stuff.

GW1 was like that(not like it was a mmo, they didnt want to call it that). But GW2 gonna be more like a mmo.

(I miss gvging back in prophecies...)
So do I, hopefully guilds like EW/WAR and other old guilds will be back in GW2.

What I wonder the most is the fact that there will be no dedicated healer-class. Hopefully atleast it will be possible to combine skills to make a healer, or you are forced to run prot-monks(if there now are monks). Somehow they have to work in so people can play healers, unless GvG is gonna be quite horrible imo.
As time has shown, hope exists only in name. It´s actual meaning is despair.

As a minipet collector, I consider that an advantage. :P

A lot of the time on the 1st one is afking though...

And yeah, I miss GvG in proph too. I was in top 10 guilds back then.  :P

I don't really play anymore, I haven't for like 2 years now. But, all this stuff about GW2 (and how there will be no Monks) makes me think I need to get some titles on my War & Ele for the HoM for GW2, since most are on my Monk and that doesn't do me a damn bit of good...

I don't think you would have to do that:
Quote
Are Hall of Monuments achievements by character or by account?

By account. A player may link a Guild Wars 2 account to a Guild Wars account using an in-game item in Guild Wars 2. All characters on the account will then be able to access the rewards from the Hall of Monuments.

It would be the same as going in to your hall now, and selecting to view your hall based on your account's achievements not the character you are on (I use this a lot to preview armor actually).

My favorite character is my monk, so I'm a bit sad about that class going, so I'm pining my hopes on the Blue Mace Lady being some sort of acceptable substitute.

Oh... I see the mace now. All I saw was the little blue part. But anyways, Monks wear cloth armor, not plate armor and they use a staff or wand and focii... they also stated "There will be no dedicated healing profession in Guild Wars 2.". So, the chances of there being a Monk in some form is probably not gonna happen.

But maybe more interestingly....

"Secondary professions were originally included, however due to the unique mechanics of each profession and the increased role of race in character customization, they are no longer a feature of the game. "
