NaRu got a Xbox360 Elite for free

I told people before the only way I will get a xbox 360 if someone gave it to me for free. Well now I have one. It doesn't have a HDD on it and it has 1 red ring. Now Im planning to mod the shit out of this and get a huge HDD for it. I looked up for some HDD hacks and found there are some that support up to 750 GB HDD. Also its suppose to work on Xbox live. But first I need to fix it so that ring goes away.

I told people the same thing.Only my friends aren't so generous as yours.
I probably will buy one if that Natal thing works out,which is quite hard.I don't wanna play big brother with a small kid all day.

well he didnt want to send it out..(lazy I guess) I might do that myself or just fix it myself. Its not as hard as people think it is. I could easily get the part needed to install it myself

Just send the fucker in. If your friend is going to buy another one anyways, go use your discount, buy one, sell to him for a slight profit (Few bucks + Cost if the guy is cheap) and keep the receipt to ship your "dead" one to MSFT.

I used the towel trick on my brother's release day unit.  It was working fine when he sold it about a year later.

I think you can fix it with some thermal paste, but I don't waste my time with Xboxes.

Id avoid modding it if you want to actually use live in any fashion microsoft is whinning and cracking down on it pretty hard as of late. But if you never use live for online play youll be good to go as most rrod are easy enough to fix.
