happy lesson OAV

didn't see any topics on this series so figured id ask here. I snagged happy lesson final and happy lesson advance from here back when freeleech was on. I guess the OAV and the original TV series are funimation so they arent up here. I was gonna go snag them and give the series a look but theres a problem.

The OAV is a bit confusing. i checked ADB and the comercial release and it looks like there are only 3 episodes even though its listed as a 5 episode OAV. I would think that would just mean no one translated it, but even looking at the R1 release of the OAV, it appears to only be 3 episodes long. What gives? It shows 0 minutes for ep 4 and 5 as well on ADB.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the OAV? was it 3 or 5 episodes?

might as well ask too.. is the show any good? It looked like a prety amusing slightly ecchi comedy from the clips ive seen so i figured id give it a go

gona go browse some different torrent sites for the first TV series. Older stuffs harder to find. looks like Tokyo Tosho is down yet again

A DVD/dual-audio version has yet to be uploaded.

Approximate timeline of the first OVA:

Episodes 1-3 are released in Japan and get fansubbed
ADV announces license, fansubbers drop the project
Episodes 4 and 5 are released in Japan
ADV releases 1-3 in R1, never touches eps 4-5 for some unknown reason

Hope is on the horizon though -- see my comment in the torrent I linked.

ah that just went up recently,t hats why i never saw it.

Still that apears to be the TV version, iw ould probaly prefer the DVD version. Any idea if the TV version is censored at all? If not maybe i'll just go with that since the filezise for the uploaded AE versions here are small

looked around briefly and the version i see out there the most is either H-L, or on IRC the E-D version. ED version filesize is nuts for something this old, and im dubiuos about the quality of H-L. I cant seem to find the Lime versions. Any idea which is the best bet? ADB isn't much help here cuz its so old.

as far as the OAV goes.. thats really friggin bizare! i found a torrent with the first3 translated (ED) and the last 2 raw so im getting those. Still, very bizare that they never subbed or brought over the last 2.  I guess i'll keep an eye out to see if you wind up throwing the subs out there for the last 2. Tnx for the info

If I were DLing the Happy Lesson TV series today, I'd get E-D's version since it's the only one that has vobsubs. I watched the LIME release awhile back, and .srt subs are just a mess for this show. Filesizes... well, they're typical of E-D's recent releases, and are mainly that big because of the ac3 audio tracks. Besides, they're not nearly as big as these files ;D

I haven't seen the TV-rips, but there's no nudity or anything that would've been censored, IIRC.
