I can imagine the screen being very fragile, especially if they are going to make it out of the same material the iphone is made in.
Personally, I would stick with my laptop. I'm not really big with touchscreens.

Fragility came to my mind first as well, I presume it is something hardened compared to iphone.

Also many people can not keep up with cleaning finger prints on their iphones, what are they going to do with this one,

But i have to admit, it is big and I don't know the specs but if it can support streaming media that this might be the next big thing.

I think it has a price plan when purchased with a service provider (verizon? ) but I recall reading 1000$ without it.

well you are correct, but I had the same impression when iphone came out and I don't possess one still. Taking into account the herd psychology and the momentum gained from iphone, Apple might win this one as well.

I'm not entirely sure I like it at this point... will have to wait until I am able to play with one myself.

One thing it definitely has over traditional PC tablets is its portability factor - 1.5lbs and .5" thick vs. 6+lbs and clunky...

The iBooks part looks the most appealing to me, assuming it sells college textbooks at a much cheaper price. It'd be even better if it were like iTunes in that it allows the use of non-Apple-sold books on the device, since it would me to pirate all my textbooks. Throw in a highlighter tool and you have something that many, many college students will be purchasing.

If I can take a text book and draw all over it I'll be pretty happy. No more post it notes in library books or printing ebooks off to write essays. And as for drawing.... I really want to go play with one. And with the base model only costing just over £300 its viable for me to get as well...
