They have about the same "userfriendlyness" as html from 1994, load slow, fucked up "paths" (imagine clicking a few times, realizing you're in the wrong chapter, no option to click to go to the TOC, click back a few times, click yes to "must retransmit information", and if you read slow, log back into the damn website) Not to mention these cost about 40-60 bucks to access by which it's like buying a console and spending like 10x the value of the console in games and accessories over the life of the thing.
Seriously, most online copies are fucked up. And they won't release the draft copies of the textbook. (Fuck you money grubbing, royalty sucking authors)

The iBook store works roughly like the iTunes store does. When you buy a book, the file is downloaded and it's yours. It's on your hard drive, not on some remote server somewhere.
Apple is using the free, open, and established ebook format standard known as epub. This means that when combined with the iPad's reader, downloaded books will act like lighter, enhanced PDFs that can do things like change the font of the document to your taste. It also means that the iPad can make use of any of the ePub book files you see scattered around the internet.

yea just like all the songs you download with itunes they are yours on up to 3 computers and 1 ipod at a time
kurandoinu:
5 computers and no limit of ipods that I've seen. :/
mgz:
uh im pretty sure you cant just download your entire 20k library of songs you purchased from itunes. PURCHASES from itunes i believe require the ipod to be registered or some garbage. At least it used to be i dont use the godforsaken garbage ipods or their garbage itunes software. So im going off memory here.
