Epic Reissues
(1/1)
Anthiena:
Now, we all know that a number of older series are seeing rereleases, both here and abroad. Which ones are the best in your opinion?
Far as reissues, I can't go without mentioning EVA: Platinum Edition. Scenes reanimated? Yes, plz.
....but for another epic reissue none of us Amerikajin will see outside of torrents and using EBay is the Revolutionary Girl Utena Tenth Anniversary boxes.
For two reasons:
* Central Park Media died. Right now Funi-kun is showing the original on their premium channels and online, there is a place to legally buy a download... but of the remaster? No sign.
* The price is almost 200 American Dollars. Each.
...but for the win it included:
* The whole series, remastered (though Kozue's earrings are still different shot-to-shot) with a few corrections-there are now visible bodies in the coffins in Nemuro Memorial Hall, the pincushion Anthy is now in painful full screen glory among others. A few lines were also corrected. (Utena now calls Anthy "Himemiya" during the Wakaba duel for example.)
* The movie, plus commentary.
* Footage of the musical. It was hilariously bad, or so I've heard.
* All nine discs of the Utena soundtrack. (One is a best of, two are dramatic readings of the Manga, at least two are full of unused/alternate tracks) Plus there is a bonus disc with remixes of a bunch of songs.
* Jaw dropping cover art.

Nothing still beats this:
