« on: January 31, 2010, 11:37:09 AM »
i know this may sound weird but i had to say this..
I always had a feeling naruto and harry potter were similar in many ways.It may sound weird but yea, when i think about it both are loong, both have so many charecters in them you tend to forget who is who..and finally both deviate from the way you think the story would proceed. :-\

I think it's just you who forgets the harry potter characters, or maybe you haven't seen the movies/read the books in one go yet.
and seriously, length of naruto >> length of harry potter
now to see if this thread survives x.x

l see your point but l disagree, first of all, Potter has no Tsunade character, wich is a major factor for fanbase, l mean the looks, not the actual character (age ???)
also Naruto has a lot of interesting characters while Potter has very little story focused characters compared to Naruto.

that said, your illusion breaks.

Harry Potter was a direct rip-off from sci-fi into fantasy from Star Wars.*
Naruto is a popular Shounen which isn't a rip-off from anything, it's just following traditional Shounen style of story.

when i think about it both are loong
Naruto is approx 7,220 minutes long so far, Harry potter is 903 minutes so far, unless JK Rowling pulls out many...many......ma ny hidden books, one is clearly far longer ¬¬

i know this may sound weird but i had to say this..
It does sound weird.

I always had a feeling naruto and harry potter were similar in many ways
Well...there not :|

both have so many charecters in them you tend to forget who is who..
In Naruto maybe, especially the filler characters...but not Harry Potter.

Any show with loads and loads of characters will tend to have conflicting plots and bystanders will be cast into the sidelines.

Take Umineko for example. There are so many key characters, side characters, plot twists, feint gambits, and ghost characters that i've given up trying to figure out which Arc im currently on.
Did you know Satan was supposedly gods RIGHT HAND MAN, not his left. Blows your theory out of the water now doesn't it.

The similarities between is Harry Potter and Starwars is because both are generic fantasy stories.
Farmer boy who is really a prince and or wizard rescues the Princess from the Evil Warlock and his Dark Knight.
Memories are meant to fade. They're designed that way for a reason.
