Deus Ex 3
« on: January 31, 2010, 06:42:25 PM »

Release Date:
?? (According to Gametrailers.com the release is the 4th quarter of 2010. A norwegian games-dealer list the preorder as available 24th October 2010.)
Iam not gonna try to predict when it comes out, seems only the developer knows for sure.

Official Site:

Info And Concept-Art:
Forum Thread

Game Type:
First Person Shooter - Role Playing Game

Setting:
The setting and feel of the game is still Cyberpunk but with a Renaissance twist. The Renaissance aspects do not overshadow the near-future setting but complement certain aesthetics. One of the reasons it was chosen is related to one of Deus Ex 3's core story elements: in the game, humans are really starting to utilise mechanical augmentations - everything from having your personal information implanted in a chip beneath your skin to completely replacing limbs with all-mechanical parts (prosthetics). At this point in human evolution, we are starting to really understand the body and improve it in terms of functionality, quality and longevity which mirrors what happened during the Renaissance when people like DaVinci started dissecting humans and learning about the inner workings of the body for the first time.

Deus Ex 3 will have blood and realism but gore will remain limited - it is not a game about butchery. There won't be any over-the-top extreme content either, like dueling chainsaws. Mature content will remain realistic.

Sociology is touched upon in the game, particularly in relation to the augmentations. Essentially, DX3 explores the beginnings of human augmentation and the transhumanism movement is a major influence in the game. There are people who think it's "playing God" to modify the body whatsoever and there are people (Transhumanists) who think it's the natural evolution of the human species to utilise technology. You're caught in the middle of this storm and must decide which path you take. The visual stigma augmentated people bear adds fuel to the huge societal rift between them and natural humans that's at the centre of Deus Ex 3's vision of the future. Consider, for example, the endemic racism of 1950s/60s America for imagery, attitudes and problems augmented people face in DX3.

DEUS EX 3 GAME SUMMARY:
A huge cyberpunk story with conspiracies.
Non-linear, multi-path, multi-solution gameplay.
Different ways to solve any objective depending on your play style (social, hacking, stealth or action).
Character and weapon customisation.
Action/RPG just like the first game.
Choices and consequences.
A semi-open world approach to levels and missions.
Different characters to meet and interact with.
An inventory system similar to DX1.
It's not a sandbox. It's not totally linear. It's like the best of both of those approaches.
Random explorable elements with earned experience points.
Global travel.

Ive been looking forward to this game for a while now. I wish it would just come out allready!

Prequel to DX1

Hopefully, it is as good as the developers say/it's as good as (or even better than) DX1. Topping DX2 shouldn't be so difficult, though. xD

I knew nothing of the outside world. I was just a frog in a well.

Really looking forward to it...

I love the first two!

Anyone know if Warren Spector is attached to the project?

ARE THERE ANY MEMBERS OF THE ORIGINAL DEUS EX WORKING ON PART 3?
No, but Sheldon Pacotti, Lead Writer on Deus Ex 1 and 2, is consulting on the story.
So I'll take that as a "No" (Got it from a thread under the one you posted...  That's kinda sad, but W/E, it's still DX ^_^

Also, looks like after DX3 hits, they're gonna start working on Thi4f (dumb way of spelling the name... BUT ITS THIEF!)

So glad to see the Ion Storm games aren't dead ^_^

God really hope this game lives up to exceptions after the 2nd Deus Ex. Been waiting for years after playing the First Dues Ex and it rocking my socks off with storyline, game play, and general all round awesomeness.
Really hope this game is not going to be a cop out for console players (no Offence) as liked the difficulty of Dues Ex and the ability of choosing many paths ie Stealth, Guns blazing, sneaky head shots ect, and its not turned into a Linear follow one path till you played and completed the game, instead of many paths leading to a conclusion.

Hope the Level design has thought, like the first like Hong Kong level and French catacombs, leading out to the streets.

OMGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!

http://deusex.com/preorder.php

I have been waiting for this for entirely too long!  The new trailer looks stunning, and the story looks remarkably well-developed.  After DX2 completely shattered my dreams of a decent sequel, this title looks to be the retribution for wrongs of the past.  It better be.  Deus Ex is by far one of my most favorite games ever produced, and I consider it one of the best, historically.  If, after all the die-hard fanatacism and hype, DX3 turns out to be another horrid addendum to the original... I may lose faith in the gaming industry forever.  Cry

Cyberpunk <3 <3
* mizore goes to preorder and watch the new trailer again Cheesy

One of the best trailers I have seen for a game. If the clips of gameplay in the trailer is real-time CGI than I better upgrade my desktop gpu :)

It was immense, sort of MSG but this time you don't need to hide. I think the release date is still March 2011 !?

I checked out the forum accessible through the game site. A member has made a post yesterday regarding the preview of the game on PC Gamer which he got his hands on.

PC Gamer UK - Actual preview! Screenshots and everything!

It says the PC Gamer guy found it "comparable to Deus Ex", also here is something that sort of summarizes the mood of the game
Quote
"You're like Clint Eastwood with robot arms, wearing an expensive curtain. Who wouldn't want to play that?"
  :D

The Deus-Ex was one of my best, hope this one lives up to it :)

* I was going to post this reply to http://forums.bakabt.me/index.php?action=post;topic=24557.0;num_replies=0, I waited for mizore to move his comment to here, I guess he is not going to.

same here, I just realized Eidos was "a Square Enix company" from the small text under the Eidos logo on the game's main site.

May be they had financial problems and got acquired by Square Enix?

today is awesome! I find out about MVC3 AND Deus Ex 3
two of my all time favorites! took them long enough  >:(
There must a be a reason for tanking things. And all must be in certain balance.
But what that balance is, must depend only on you, nobody else.
