The first is much better than original wars IMO, you should definitely check it out.
You could check this out: http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-nameless-mod/tutorials/improving-deus-exs-graphics-with-mods I haven't tested it out but it looks promising, and I'm sure theres other sources as well.

Boss fights are retarded. Boss fight punish you if you have the wrong augs to counter that boss. So depending on augs you have, the boss fight is either too easy, or nearly impossible.
Currently I am stuck on the second boss because I don't have resistance against electricity so I cant electrocute her without dying myself, nor do I have the typhon augment, which is allegedly very strong against her.

I haven't gotten far into it yet, but this game seems more streamline than the other two.
Do the worlds/cities ever open up a little bit? or is it pretty much point a to point b with some choices along the way?

Just kite her. I took her down using only my combat rifle, cloak, and sprint (and no, I didn't have any damage resistance). Enjoy it; with EMP protection it'd probably be trivial.

I found a savegame that I made when I entered the lower level of the tower. Found out that at that point I still had 3 praxis points, so I invested all 3 in Typhon and went ahead to meet that impossible boss.
I swear, I killed her in 2 Typhon shots. Since she hugs you with her special attack, using Typhon at that time will do some serious damage to her, disrupt her special attack and stun her for a duration. With Typhon she was really trivial.
Now I wonder if the next bosses require you to have augs to beat them.
