Buying a new pc ( for gaming) need recomendations

It was a fairly decent frame-rate for the most part, smooth in most places, though as the game progresses and the push it harder and harder I had to lower the settings in some scenes...
Meh, once Vray release their GPU renderer (for animation) I'll probably get a decent card, 285 or something... Though I guess it'll be in a while so the card to get will have changed. Almost thinking of going ATI for the next card.... (when it's not really a graphics card but a computation card).

You mean for GPGPU stuff? The Fermi cards are supposed to really good at it since they're specifically designed with it in mind. At least, that's what Nvidia says.

Haven't really been keeping up to date with GFX cards these days, we shall see! I'm a bit cautious about Cuda-type stuff, I think OpenCL has much more potential - as in it is less likely to be ripped by lame companies - for example Adobe teaming up with nVidia to only allow GPU encoding on Quadro cards, I mean - fuck off!

Putting a computer together is really not at all that hard, despite how complicated it looks.
