I thought the Zoostorm would be better, since its got the new 2010 technology "Intel® Core™ i3 processor" its got 2.93GHz whilst the acer has 2.50ghz.

I found the same make http://www.ebuyer.com/product/176496 but the gaming version, its got a graphics card of
Graphics nVIDIA® GeForce GTS250 512MB DDR3 Graphics Card  what do u think?

Not convinced you need DDR3 for an i5 either.
1156 socket motherboards only use DDR3, and i5s are only for 1156 motherboards.
Ah, for some reason I thought I remembered seeing that i5's didn't need DDR3, only i7s...

Last one mentioned would do the job....

The Core i3 is Intel's current low end part, where as the Core 2 Quad is it's last gen high end part. The Core i3 is a cut down dual core made with lower power usage and cost cutting in mind. It's also over-priced for what you get because you're having to pay for the internal graphics processor that you won't be using. Also, MHz doesn't mean everything. If you're really concerned about it, it looks like it comes with a Foxconn motherboard, so you could easily do a bit of light overclocking.

The GTS250 is an OK card. It's not great, but it's OK. The GTS250 is actually part of a long line of renaming that Nvidia has done, and is actually a bit of a joke for people who keep up with this kind of thing. The GTS250 is a renamed 9800GTX+, which is a slightly overclocked and renamed 8800GT. It'll be able to run modern games just fine at 1280x720 (same as X360 and PS3) with medium to high detail settings.

You're thinking of 1366 socket (i7 only) using tripple channel DDR3 vs 1156 (i5s and i7s) using dual channel DDR3.

Yeah, that'd be it I guess.

Having an i7 on my desk I have no need to know about i3/i5....

My 9800 could do crysis on 1920*1200 at highish settings, not a bad card.

It couldn't have been at a decent frame rate, or with AA. I had to add a second 9800GT to my PC to keep it in the buttery smooth zone at 1920x1080. It still can't handle Arkham Asylum at that resolution if I turn PhysX to max. I can't wait for Fermi GPUs to hit the market. Imma get me two of 'em.

It was a fairly decent frame-rate for the most part, smooth in most places, though as the game progresses and the push it harder and harder I had to lower the settings in some scenes...

Meh, once Vray release their GPU renderer (for animation) I'll probably get a decent card, 285 or something... Though I guess it'll be in a while so the card to get will have changed. Almost thinking of going ATI for the next card.... (when it's not really a graphics card but a computation card).

You mean for GPGPU stuff? The Fermi cards are supposed to really good at it since they're specifically designed with it in mind. At least, that's what Nvidia says.

Haven't really been keeping up to date with GFX cards these days, we shall see! I'm a bit cautious about Cuda-type stuff, I think OpenCL has much more potential - as in it is less likely to be ripped by lame companies - for example Adobe teaming up with nVidia to only allow GPU encoding on Quadro cards, I mean - fuck off!

Now I personally think I have enough money to buy a gaming pc, i can get more. wondering what you guys suggest,

I found this on newegg, which has got some good deals http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883113119
This is something I truly like, but finding it hard to ship over to the uk

The following list would crush any PC listed previously in this thread.

Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 £81.14
Intel Core i5 750 £150.95
XFX HD 5750 1GB £113.69
Crucial 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz £84.99
Compucase 6XR8 Black Full ATX Tower Case £54.74
OCZ Stealth XStream 600W PSU £54.99
Seagate ST3500418AS 500GB Hard Drive £37.39
Samsung SH-S223 22X DVD±RW £14.99

Total: £592.88 (I can go lower if you want)

http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/video_how_build_pc_ever_step_explained

Putting a computer together is really not at all that hard, despite how complicated it looks.

the processor is really nice
dont like the shape of the case though looks like a brick

Start with the Motherboard/Processor. Select those first, and then pick your case according to the ones you selected.

The i5 750 is probably the best Core i processor for the price.

As far as cases go, i really recommend NZXT. They have some killer looking specimens. I'm using the NZXT Tempest model myself and the thing kicks ass (The Apollo, Lexa S, and Gamma are also supposed to be good cases).  8)

A man's case is a very personal decision so choose wisely.

With respect to gaming, a Core i is only as good as the graphics card you put next to it. Unless you get a fairly good graphics card as well, you aren't going to see the full potential which you paid all that money for. In which case a regular quad core would do just as well.

If however you want to do a lot of heavy duty stuff with videos and anime, then I can vouch that a good CPU will be your best friend, even if everything else is mediocre.

right now i need a decent graphics card to do the job, when starcraft 2 comes out, ill buy an expensive one.

and yh ill be doing pretty much that.

btw whats the difference between video card and graphics card? I know graphics are important to gaming.

Who, Archer? He's from Fate/Stay Night. It's an Anime/Visual Novel (messege me for the VN link if your interested, although i'd watch the anime first). Here is the Collective Holy Thread on the subject. You'd best be careful round here though, else Tatsu shall call upon Saber to rain wrath from the sky upon you for such ignorance.  :D

They're the same thing. video card = graphics card = GPU etc...
