Just bought the game on steam for $5. Did anyone play this game before?

I've played the crap out of it. Not a half bad diablo clone. The portal system was awesome for mulitplayer.  The expansion threw quite a bit of variation of monsters into the mix. The game itself is fairly lengthy, especially if you include the side quests.

The only real complaint I would have is that the map is static and not at all randomized. But searching for gear and fighting bosses was extremely fun.

I've had a lot of fun with it but there's two
things I think should've been done differently:

The maps are, like Lurch wrote, static so the
feel of exploring is somewhat lessened compared
to for example Diablo 2, even is the maps are
pretty much the same-ish anyway.

The gear is too random for my taste, there's
too few fixed stats.

Great game with lots of re-playability if only
to try out different character builds.

Played this one quite a lot with few friends.

It's alrgiht. Didn't quite strike me as diablo did.
Maybe it's the always same layout. Gets boring.
The classes are nice. Good combination possibilities.

Annoying thing is the recipes. They take forever to collect.
And when you get something together it's already outdated.

Because we can!

The dev company has since gone under; but it seems there's a decent following in the community, still releasing patches. I have yet to try it out, but definitely worth taking a look at

we ended up going back to Diablo II.
