I want to seed for a friend.
Lumiinous:
First things first:
I tried searching for things like "seed for a friend" or "seeding for somebody else" and "two passkeys on one torrent instance" with nothing really coming up.
I realize that in the FAQ it advises against logging into the account of another BakaBT user to prevent the system from seeing you as a multi-account user.
So with that said, here's the situation and question:
A friend of mine made an account here at my suggestion a little bit before freeleech season started. I linked him to a few things he should get. He got them and completed them all, no problems. I could tell a story and give the reasoning why, but the jist of it is he doesn't have great upload speed and can't seed very often as it is.
If I shoot him a message and ask him to send me his torrent files, the ones he downloads from the site, with his passkey inside and send them over to me, can I stop all of my BBT activity, load his torrents for the stuff that we've both completed, and seed, giving to his account WITHOUT the system giving either of us trouble about different IPs?
If it would help, I could just have him not try to seed at all while I took over for him for awhile.
Arveene:
Yes. Just don't be seeding the same things on the same passkey from two different places.
Your last line would probably be the best idea.
Lumiinous:
Alright, thanks. I guess in the end I'm acting like a seedbox for him, just a very slow one. Much faster and much more open than anything he could do himself though.
Southrop:
Yeah, no problems there. Just don't log into his account. You could probably insert his passkey into torrents that you're already seeding, although I have no guarantees that will work.

It should, but you wouldn't be able to track how much is recorded where, and could cause problems for the tracker resulting with a ban...
So I wouldn't recommend it...
Following Arveene's suggestion won't cause problems as long as you actually don't log in to his account or vice versa.
