Special running moments in anime
« on: February 04, 2010, 02:17:57 PM »
In some anime they show a certain scene where a character is running, what's special about the scene is not the fact that the character is running but how the anime changes its drawing style or feel just for that one scene however short it may be, not sure why is this done but if anyone could share the ones they remember would be nice.

Examples I could think of are:
Bokurano OP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05p646nlYS0#t=45s
Nanoha 1st episode http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So7-OP-uhVg#t=7m38s

oh and use spoiler tags if the scene itself spoils something.

First episode of Yakitate Japan when Azuma was late for the train and his sister took him there on her crotch-rocket, taking a shortcut through the rice fields.

That's one of the oddest topics I've seen lately. Are you a fan of running sequences?
Best running I've seen in Anime is Mind Game I'd have to say, cool style.
I don't see the "special" moments in those sequences though.  ???

Eyeshield 21 - Sena. Would've become the most EPIC SPEED DEMON MANKIND HAS EVER CREATED. If it wasn't for production nerfs.

I tried to pick my wording for this topic, but it seems "special" wasn't the best choice. I felt like whoever animated these was trying to convey something, or I'm just looking too much into it.

Oh and I'll admit that seeing that running scene was what made watch Bokurano :S seen it in one of those nico nico douga clips.

Thanks for the ones shared so far, will look into them once I get the time.

That would be one of the best ways to describe Requiem for a Dream.
